This is the first time I've ever seen bone marrow listed as a favorite food and I'm sure it will probably be the last that I see it listed on a kid's list of favorites (and quite possibly, some adults!). You've done well introducing them to flavors and tastes!

This annual list is such a cool thing to do. Too late to do with my adult son but there's always the next generation. Interesting that bone marrow is the favorite food. I loved it as a child; it was a treat I didn't get too often. I haven't had it in over 60 years now. I, too, adore penguins.

I think it's such a nice tradition to do the questions yearly- Nice memories. I laughed at the favorite fruit being a lemon (which I think of as sour). Love the photo with the camels.

I always enjoy hearing your son's answers to the questions. How amazing he wants to be a Chemist. I just bought Mia a stuffed Penguin. They are fascinating, and I believe they are both bird and animal, but not sure. Funny his favorite fruit is a lemon - they are so good for you. But no thank you on the brain. ; ) Thanks for sharing your son's heart with us.

Kitchen and Family Room: New Flooring

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. I had always wanted a chocolaty dark floor.. The next thing to take into consideration was the transition between the two floors.. generally what is used it a T- Moulding, that strip you see in the above picture connecting the two floors together. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making ...
