If you recall the steam train I posted a few weeks ago.. well this was the interior of one of the train carriages. Both photographs are of the same carriage.. I shot both from the same place. The first is straight on with the color a true representation of the seats whereas the second was taken with a tilt of the camera and was given a sepia tone finish.  Do you prefer one of the other? I sold more prints of the first and I don't think any of the second.                                Chug a Chug Chug - This is a photograph of the Essex Steam Train taken in Essex, Connecticut. I took this photograph in 2008 during a road trip M and I took through New England. This is a Valley Railroad #97, a vintage 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive, built in 1923 by the American Locomotive Company. It's one of the few operational steam locomotives in the United States, consuming 2 tons of coal per day to produce the steam that powers it.     When I started out with photography I was obsessed with taking close ups.. macro shots. This is a yellow and green abstract of a tree bark. I found it fascinating. Islamic Pattern   - Back in 2007 when I was in my last year of college our class went on a trip to Iran. We travelled to Tehran, Isfahan and Yazd. This photograph was taken inside Jameh Mosque in Yazd, Iran. This 14th-century Azeri-style Shia mosque features blue tilework, 2 domes & 2 minarets. You can buy this print  here . Another hand photograph from the archives. In South Asia, on joyous occasions like weddings we purchase garlands made of rose and place them around the necks of the happy couple. There are different types of garlands made for different occasions.                                Another hand photograph from the archives. This one was taken in Karachi, Pakistan. This photograph is of Sakina, our maid at that time. A fact that surprises some is that most people in 3rd world countries have maids. I went to her home where she ground herbs between two rocks.   Another hand photograph from the archives. This one was taken in Karachi, Pakistan. Getting this picture was a right place at the right time situation. I was in the backseat of the car waiting just like this man here for the light to turn green. His ring adorned hand hanging out the window. It was a quick moment and I just happened to have my camera with me. Lucky me. This was in the pre cell phone era.. You can buy this print  here . I am going to be sharing another one from the archives. This above photograph was taken in Karachi.                   I am going to be sharing another one from the archives. This above photograph was taken in in Shiraz, Iran in 2007. Shiraz is the fifth most populous city in Iran and known as the city of literature and poets. It is also known for it's beautiful gardens.  We were visiting Iran on a school trip and this was taken at the Mausoleum of Saadi, a famous Iranian poet from the 13th century. Now I don't know much about the poet but back in his day we was considered a master of speech. Things have been busy so I haven't had the time to edit any of the 1000's of photographs I have so I going back and pulling something out of my archives. This above photograph was taken over 17 years ago. It was taken for my college thesis. I had a photography minor and I did my final project on hands.
