Autumn in the Berkshires

Image
Last weekend was a long weekend..we took Friday off as well and went to the Berkshires in Massachusetts. On Friday we drove up to North Adams. We had lunch at A-OK BBQ. It was so so good. The kids had mac and cheese while M and I had the pulled chicken sandwiches. We walked around the area.. discovered a gorgeous shop called Roam selling goods made by African villagers and craftsmen. The Mass MOCA Museum is also located there, unfortunately we could not stop in for a visit :( Before heading out we grabbed coffee and the boys ice cream from Tunnel City Coffee.  Our next stop was Mount Greylock, the highest peak in Massachusetts. The internet informed me that hiking to the summit with small children was not easy so we decided to drive right up to the summit.  While on Greylock we decided to hike to Stony Ledge, a rocky outcropping offering scenic vistas of the Greylock mountain range. and they all fall down

This past week almost all the leaves fell off our trees.. Especially the bright red leaves of the big Japanese maple in our backyard. Friday afternoon right after school we thought we'd take a jump in the leaves, before they had to be raked, bagged and taken away. So glad we took out the time to do so.. the weekend got cold and wet and all the leaves blew away.                             Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Bloglovin

Pumpkin Patch

Image
This happened the weekend before Sandy hit: My mother in law was visiting for two weeks. She had never experienced autumn or seen the beautiful changing colors of the trees. So we thought, what better way than to introduce her to the fall festivities than a pumpkin patch. In all honesty this was not just her first pumpkin patch it was also M and D's. I'm sure I had been to one as a child but I don't have any distinct memories or pictures as proof. So let's call me a pumpkin patch virgin too. I can smell it in the air!

Image
The air is cool, the sky is gray and the rain is falling.. I have spotted a few yellow leaves. It's here, fall is almost here, I can smell it in the air and I can not contain my excitement! I love the colors and the breeze, I love the layers and sweaters. I will miss my flip flops but I am ready to bring out my boots. Here's a few autumn themed photographs to kick off my favorite season. Orange Leaf   Shroom Climbing Delicately Dry Fall Themed Coasters Another Day Another Time Flora Droplets And they all fall down Colors Filtered Growth The cool weather makes me want to bake, I'm starting out with some warm banana chocolate chip bread.. but instead of a bread pan I'm thinking of using a muffin pan instead and make some delish muffins. The house will smell delectable. We are also celebrating D turning 2 months today.. wow.. how time flies. He now socially smiles, follows movement with his eyes and makes these adorable little noises. He lov...
