Dinosaur Park

Image
Last weekend we took D to Field Station: Dinosaurs a very tame, toddler friendly Jurassic Park minus the real dinosaurs and all the bloodshed. And when I say toddler friendly I mean it.. anyone over the age of ten may have been bored. The dinosaurs made noises.. and moved a very small amount but for a three year old it was very real. In fact our very first dinosaur was a pointed toothed carnivore roaring at a startled D. After a while he warmed up to a few herbivores.. even roared back as long as mommy was near by.. but by the time we got to dino number 6 he too seemed to be less interested. Not really worth the $25 adult admission. Last year.. yes last year around this time we were making our way out of Egypt . It was a a great trip, spiritual and full of gorgeous historic mosques. Some of my photographs from the trip Al Azhar  The beautiful interiors of Al Azhar Mosque, Cairo's first mosque. The lights turned off and the sun's light the only light illuminating the sacred space creates a serene ambiance. Carved Door The beautifully carved wooden door at the entrance of the Al Aqmar Mosque in Cairo, Egypt.   Ibn Tulun The long beautiful arch filled walkway inside the historical Mosque of Ibn Tulun in Cairo, Egypt.     In Prayer The beautiful interiors of Al Azhar Mosque, Cairo's first mosque. The lights turned off and the sun's light the only light illuminating the sacred space creates a serene ambiance. Minaret In the outer courtyard of the historical Mosque of Ibn Tulun in Cairo, Egypt. Woodland Friends

Image
With the new house came deer..  they just wander in, hang out, catch up on the latest deer news and wander right back out. They scare easy so I have yet to manage a good picture.. but I'm not giving up! Along with the deer we have squirrels and chipmunks and last week I think I saw a beaver? It was brown, fuzzy and too far to tell.. but we don't have a river near by and I thought they lived near water to you know build their dams.. oh and I spotted some hummingbirds too! M and I are still amazed by every deer we spot.. D is less impressed.. he either instructs them to 'go there'.. pointing to some random location or tries to invite them in to share his breakfast..  So in honor of my new woodland neighbors..  ECHarrow Bohtieque Sugar Beet Press Paper Face Studio Cardtorial Love Joy Create LeTrango Clay and Clasp Cabin Tiny Kiwi Creations Made By Maru Elf Shoppe Belle Et Bete Willow

Lately

I have still not unpacked everything.. somehow it just doesn't seem to be my top priority. I have managed to gag and blind my inner neat freak.. not sure how.. I'm just as surprised. I am trying to rest.. everything hurts and my Braxton Hicks are oddly annoying and persistent this time around. Last time I hardly felt them.. and when they aren't acting up the kid goes on a kicking spree! D started school and I am still driving around the neighborhood with my GPS trying to figure things out. We are also planning our first renovation.. key word planning.. hoping to start executing soon. : D I have been cooking.. We played our first board game. And D is showing independence and growth.. he's our little helper.. even when him helping means more work. In Houston

Image
We spent Labor Day with family in Houston. My sister in law was celebrating her daughter's first birthday and us having little to no family here it was nice to join in on the festivities.. plus D got a kick out of meeting his only girl cousin.. he was actually the big brother for a change. It was interesting to see him in action.. a preview of sorts. Wagging his little finger at her when she made a mess.. A little pre party jumping All dressed up! The theme was orange and white. All the kids attending wore matching Nemo shirts.  The cake The next day was spent with M's sister and M's cousin and families day tripping in Austin.. which was great fun except for the scorching heat..  Got the view from Mount Bonnell.. spent just enough time baking under the sun to take a picture. At the Zilker Park.. weighing our options of what to do next.. the kids not loving the heat... and then it starts to cool down So we rent a couple kayak's and take
