Random Things
Sometimes don't you all just feel like screaming! Turns out, after a quick Google search there are rage cafes, scream parks and even community scream clubs. In rage cafes you can even go and and break things.. release all that pent up anxiety and anger.
The nightmare will just not end, the stupidity is at an all time high.. and for the logical and sane folks out there it is infuriating.. hence the need to scream.
But let's not dwell..
I am doing what makes me happiest..
And while it is not right now.. I can still plan.
Early September is Broadway week.. so we got some tickets to go see The Outsiders. This was our 14th show, I have a post listing them all here. It was very different from our usual fun and light shows. For anyone who has read the book - I as a young teen and D in middle school - we all know the subject matter is not light. It was done beautifully and I will not lie and say it did not make me cry a little.
I celebrated a friend's surprise birthday party.. her boys had planned it for her. The menu pizza and ice cream. Sweet. And her friend had baked her an orange infused chocolate cake. The friend is the owner of a luxury jewelry brand called the Mira Shoppe.
Love the happiness is illustration! The chocolate cake looks delicious! Here in Montreal, Canada, some "screamers" use their car horns to beep at other drivers when they are upset! LOL! Seriously, they do. We call it road rage. Your photos are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteRage places, goodness me, so many can't control their temper, such a pity.
ReplyDeleteLove the food you have shown.
Take care.
14 shows! That’s seriously impressive. The Outsiders is such an intense story, and I can imagine it hitting hard, especially if you grew up with the book. Sounds like it was a truly moving performance!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to scream too! I just want to shake some sense into my mom because she's completely on the wrong side.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI agree, happiness is planning a trip! The cake and food all looks delicious. Take care, have a wonderful week!
Seriously these days. That breakfast tho!
ReplyDeleteMy friend just returned from Poland and she said she has never been happier to be home. Things are getting a bit scary. That breakfast looks fantastic and I love chocolate with orange so I'm sure the cake was delicious. Enjoy planning your next trip. Love all of your photos as always.
ReplyDeleteWhere will your next trip take you? I like to follow along on those trips. And the food, like that spectacular omelette in the photo.
ReplyDeletecannot wait to see where you are going!! I love the theater, we just saw Neil Diamond musical and it was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHi, oh those photos of breakfast. :-)
ReplyDeleteSending hugs ... Carla
We have to look for those little/simple things that make us happy. That cake looks wonderful. Orange and chocolate go together so well!
ReplyDeleteThe food looks amazing! Always a great reminder to focus on things that bring joy.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I couldn't even read the text anymore. My eyes just zeroed in on these foodsssss! Yum!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love vacation planning.. second only to actually getting to take the trip! Your breakfast looks incredible.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I love going out especially for one that looks as good as the one your photographs. Those pancakes are calling my name! We have plans to have breakfast next week in a restaurant in the foothills of the Smoky's while we enjoy some of DH's vacation days. We're both stoke to go! Congratulations on the feature!! The camera is just an extension of your natural eye and you capture beautiful images. :) Have a blessed week and thanks for visiting today!
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes you just want to scream! That breakfast looks incredible! And congratulations on your feature!
ReplyDeleteGoing out for breakfast is great. But it's hard to do, especially with life stuff going on.
ReplyDeleteA breakfast day with your hubby sounds absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeletePlanning a vacation sounds like a lot more fun than a rage cafe! (Although a rage cafe sounds entertaining at the least.)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do get the need to scream and let it all out from time to time, I don't think I'll be frequenting one of those rage cafés or scream parks any time soon.
ReplyDeleteDoing what makes one happiest sounds like a plan, though! xxx
You are so right, sometimes all you want to do is scream. I had no idea there were rage cafes where you could actually go and break things; that sounds like a very therapeutic way to deal with the overwhelming stupidity out there.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you're focusing on what makes you happiest, even if it's just planning your next trip. Getting to 14 shows is amazing, and I'm impressed you got to see The Outsiders; it sounds like a beautifully done, if emotional, show. Congratulations on being the featured member of Artdex's newsletter! That is a fantastic achievement, and you should toot that horn all you want.

Seeing Liza Minelli in Cabaret was my first "Scream Scene".

Looks like you had lots of fun random things to enjoy. Hope you find many more happy random things this week, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI think screaming and crying are great releases of stress and I always feel good after a good cry! You travel so much and it's so fun to plan your trips and have something to look forward to. I love eating breakfast/brunch out and those pancakes look so good. Enjoy the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to experience a rage cafe once as I'm sure it'll help get some of that anxiety out, though I'm sure focusing on what makes you happy is still the better option. Those breakfast foods and cake look delicious, and congrats on being a featured member on the newsletter!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the anticipation! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThat cake!! Breakfast out is my favorite. We do that pretty often here and there are more good places in our town to get breakfast than lunch it seems. I like a big breakfast and. no lunch. Congrats on your feature! Re: 1984...I haven't read it since high school but my book club is reading it as our October selection. Should be lively : ) I remember The Outsiders too, but that's another I haven't read in decades. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe food does look so good.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature Hena! Happiness is planning your next trip. I would love to travel again soon as well!

I need to book a trip soon!
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping to go on our vacation soon, it all depends on what happens with my hubby's job and this shut down, life will be put on a bit of hold. Enjoy planning your next get away.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the mention in that newsletter, you have achieved so much, nice to get recognized for it :)
I think there is a place here where you can throw breakable things to relieve tension and then they make a video of it too! Lol! A breakfast date sounds so fun!

I need a rage cafe right now! Getting fed up of all the hate and misinformation online these days. Where's the empathy?

That's a lovely and well-deserved write-up. I looked at the Mira Shoppe - very pretty items there.
ReplyDeleteI should think scream and rage cafes are popping up all over the USA at present . . . across the pond we watch and wonder.
Even when you are not traveling you are having fun!
ReplyDeleteWho knew there were such things such as scream clubs and rage cafes. Unfortunately the news every day now gives most of us a lot to be upset about.
ReplyDeleteSeems like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Hena, that is very exciting for you! And I'd never heard of such places as rage cafe's etc. Goodness. Your dinner out looked so incredibly amazing! October blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your feature!! That breakfast looks amazing. I bet you are planning a fantastic next trip!
ReplyDeleteThat food looks so yummy! :)
ReplyDeleteNever knew of rage cafes but I'd bet they're doing well right now! Things are insane in the US! I try to avoid the news as much as possible. That food looks so delicious! Especially the pancakes. Have fun planning your next trip!
ReplyDeleteHello Hena!
ReplyDeleteI was impressed by the existence of these spaces where we can free ourselves from stress and anxiety! And the surprise birthday party was a great idea!
Have a great weekend!
I feel the same way. I read the latest stupid thing that's happening and I want to scream my face off. But like you, I take time to focus on things that make me happy, and make me ME. Then I do the work I can to counteract what's happening.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy going out for breakfast. Planning trips is fun, and that orange chocolate cake looks good!
