Summer is Coming
Summer is coming which means I will be here a little less. We have an international trip planned and a local trip planned. I also want to try to explore a bit more of our own state.
H has four more days of school left and D six.
H will be saying goodbye to Elementary school and had his moving up ceremony last week.
and then we went out for dinner to celebrate at Gosht (means meat in Urdu) in Brooklyn. We had all of H's favorites.. meat and marrow..
In the midst of all the end of year activities we are also planning a surprise birthday party for my father in law who is turning 75. Don't worry, he doesn't even know the blog exists so the secret is safe. While the party is being hosted at a restaurant we have 8 family members flying in and staying with us for a few days.. So we are party planning then planning activities and food and everything else needed to make it a great weekend.
All this coincidentally coincides with D turning 15 so we are adding on a little party for him as well.
This weekend we also celebrated Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers.
my dad and I
It was a gray and rainy day. We went out for brunch with friends and their parents.. we were a total of 28 people.. and of course not a single one of us remembered to take a picture.
On a separate note... what a moment we are having in America.. this is what is is to be American. This is what our founding fathers fought for and I am so proud to call myself an American.. our government DOES NOT represent us. We are the land of the Free and home of the Brave.. NO KINGS!
Wishing you all a great summer.. and I will check in when I can.
Wonderful post and beautiful photos. Amen to your government not representing you.
ReplyDeleteLove the No Kings picture!!

Great picture of little you and your dad. Also, super to see so many out for the No Kings protest. In Canada, we have a king (Charles) but ours has no power whatsoever over government. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful and fun summer coming too ~ enjoy each moment ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

ReplyDeleteHi Hena, What great photos! Congratulations to the boys moving on up ... You do have a busy summer. Great pics and yes to our Founding Fathers ... what makes our country great is never about the person in office. It is the people who help strangers ... like Hoda always says "find the good."
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your father-in-law and D! Such a busy time of year - I went through it a couple weeks ago when our year ended. I am so excited to see the trips you have planned for the summer. Saturday gave me a lot of hope. We really can organize and overcome this blight in what will become our history.

So glad we don't have any kings in America. I do consider my chiropractor in Logan, to be like a king. He has worked wonders and helped me fix my back pain.
ReplyDeleteYou sound a bit like us when it comes to lots of activity on the calendar and trying to make everyone feel well celebrated. Enjoy your travels this summer!
ReplyDeletesounds like you will be having a very full and fun time of it! have a great summer.

ReplyDeleteHow fun—and busy! A 75th birthday is such a special milestone, and hosting family on top of it all sounds both exciting and chaotic. Hope the surprise goes off perfectly and that you get to enjoy every moment (plus maybe a little downtime after!). Happy planning! 🎉
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing—and packed—weekend ahead! A 75th birthday surprise plus hosting family is no small feat, but it’ll be so worth it. Hope the party is a hit and you all make some unforgettable memories. (And maybe sneak in a nap somewhere in there!) 🎂✨
