Another hand photograph from the archives. This one was taken in Karachi, Pakistan. This photograph is of Sakina, our maid at that time. A fact that surprises some is that most people in 3rd world countries have maids. I went to her home where she ground herbs between two rocks. She is wearing glass bangles and her nail are colored orange with a henna, an alternative to nail polish.

Beautiful capture. I am sure Sakina's hands were so strong and yet they look dainty and feminine with the henna 'polish' on her nails and the lovely glass bead bracelets. Love that she is using a machacadora to grind her herbs.
