Birthday Post
H's 20 question post was a little belated. Things have been busy and with all the travel posts.. I have more by the way I lost track of time and his January birthday post ended up in February.
February is also a birthday month. M and I celebrated our birthdays, mine on Thursday and his on Friday. For a person who cares little about sports except maybe hockey, the weekend involved a lot of sports, a surprise and Squid Games.
on Thursday night we went out for some Portuguese food.
and celebrated with some brownie a la mode.
and then came home and worked on a puzzle while watching Landman. Have you seen it?
On Friday.. M's birthday we headed to the city for a Rangers (hockey) game. It was a nail biter but unfortunately we lost. It was still a good time.
On Saturday we headed back to New York for a Knicks vs Celtics game. The Celtics decimated the Knicks.. it was hard to watch.
We had a winter storm alert for later that night but to our surprise and my delight it was snowing when we left the Garden.
It was not a fun drive home.. it was slow and slushy. It was one am by the time we finally got home.
Sunday morning I was headed to New York city once again. This time I was making the trip solo.. my friend was celebrating her 40th birthday and her husband had planned a surprise party for her.
It started with brunch at Harold's Bistro
after brunch we headed to The Squid Games Experience. I do not watch the show but I'd have to be living under a rock to not have heard of it. It was so much fun!
and then we were off to a Superbowl party. I did not care about the game.. but we had some good food and laughs.. and my family returned happy with a Chiefs loss..
It was a whirlwind of a weekend..
Oh congratulationsd arling~ My best wishes to you and the best for your family
ReplyDeleteBirthday wishes from me, I have heard of the squid games but never seen it and have interest in doing so and those roads do not look safe
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you all had a fab birthday weekend. I remembered Squid Game as being a dystopian thriller series being child-free, I didn't realise there was a kid version! x
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!

Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI live around the area where Landman was filmed, so it's kinda neat to see places that I'm familiar with on the show. :D
hapy happy birthday to all of you celebrating! I am partial to the Celtics myself, so I would be cheering right along with H!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to all!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. It's always a good time when you are with loved ones. :)
ReplyDeleteWow it was a whirlwind! but lots of fun. Belated birthday wishes. That’s a lovely photo of you and your boys. I haven’t heard of Landman. I’ve seen a bit of the Squid games, are there different versions?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to all who are celebrating! We lived in North Jersey for several years and used to love to go for Portuguese food in the Ironbound neighborhood of Newark. Some really wonderful food! A day in the city sounds like fun. I love the country but miss the city now and then.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to both you and M! Your sports weekend of losses sounds like my horrible Chiefs loss at the Superbowl. Only you guys celebrated their loss. I don't get that, I just root for my team, and don't hate on other teams. But everyone has their own ways! My mom likes Landman, but it's not really my type of show. The Squid game experience sounds neat! I watched the first season and hope to watch the second at some point.

Happy Birthday! The food looks great. I just finished watching the second season of the Squid game. Really good.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Looks like you all have been having fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthdays all round! You certainly had a busy weekend, but driving in snow is no fun. I've never watched Squid Games. Perhaps I should.
ReplyDeleteWow that does sound very busy but fun. Wishing you and your hubby and son a Happy Belated Birthdays!!The brownie a la mode would be my choice also for a birthday treat :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Mine is in February as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Looks like a fun time, even if your teams didn't win!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Looks like the celebrations were a huge hit! We skipped the SuperBowl watching this year and opted to catch the highlights online. Though my mom was upset about the Chiefs loss, I think the better to the two teams won this year.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful month of festivities. Yes, I'm currently watching Landman. I'm about half way through it and enjoying it. Snow is pretty to look at, but difficult to drive in.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you and M! Love doing puzzles! My daughter and son-in-law have been raving about Landman. I'll have to start watching it after we finish Downton Abbey. Scary driving home in that weather. We're in Montana right now with family and it's been snowy and cold! Fun, though.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I like doing jigsaw puzzles too. That food and brownie you had both look good. Sounds like you had a fun month with everything going on. I like the look of snow, but don't like how it turns mushy and grows so fast in cities.
