It's That Time of Year

If it was a normal year we would be on a hot beach somewhere soaking up the sun.. but this has been no normal year..

We are keeping spirits high though.. the snow filled past week really help amp up the joy.

We have a slopping backyard which comes in really handy when it snows.. we had some neighborhood kids stop by and sled down as well.

Keeping with the holiday spirit we decided to make cookie decorating kits for our friends and neighbors. I baked over sixty sugar cookies, packed little baggies of sprinkles and made colorful icing.. I had a bunch of pastel food coloring so our icing looks less Christmasy and more Easterish.

I'm going to be taking a blogging break for the rest of the year.. I wish you all a very Happy Holiday and New Year.

To build a fort like that, that's a LOT of snow! It looks like fun. And the cookie making -- I'll miss that with our kids this year, but hopefully next!

Oh, I didn't know it snowed where you lived, that's wonderful! Such a sweet post with cute ideas all around. Your son looks like he's having fun decorating the cookies. That was such a thoughtful idea to make cookie decorating kits for your friends and neighbors. Sixty sugar cookies, oh my, you must have been tired after. They look great! The kids must have had a blast going sledding.

Merry Christmas, and thank you for being such a good blog friend this year and visiting often. I appreciate that so much.

What a sweet and clever idea and what gold hearts your crew has for your neighbors. The snow brick wall the boys built is awesome.

That is great that you got out to play in the snow, and your cookies look amazing! I made cut out sugar cookies for the first time this year with my grand daughter. She loved it! It was like playing with play dough to her!
