Halloween Covid Edition

How was everyone's Halloweens? We are big on Halloween.. it's the one holiday we properly celebrate.. we host a party every year.. here's last years shenanigan's. We dress up.. nothing over the top but we do a little something.. we decorate the house.. go trick or treating..

This year everything was a little different.. no party for one. :(
While the kids are going to school in person for a couple of days a week the school decided that Halloween would be celebrated on the day everyone is virtual. I convinced the boys to opt for low key costumes.. we bought these scar tattoos from Target last year for M's costume and had plenty to spare add a knife through the head and voila.

They had their virtual parties on Zoom. It a good thing kids are easy to please.

We decorated the outside of the house.. we add a little every year. Its a mix of store bought and DIY. The bats and black webs are hand cut

We opted against Trick or Treating.. but a neighbor invited the kids over for an outdoor magic show so we went.

All the parents handed out goody bags for the kids.. and the host had scattered bags of candy in their backyard.. and we came home with far more candy then we had expected.

We too had set up a candy table for our trick or treaters.. When we came back we had two little candies remaining.. I restocked the table for the night time trick or treaters but no one else came..

All in all not really a bad Halloween.

even though this virus has turned our world upside down and frayed our nerves, I am delighted to see your happy boys dressed up for Halloween and scoring an epic candy haul! Just think of all the candy you can sneak a piece from now til Christmas?!

I loved your house. I noticed too what pretty grass you have! A virtual Halloween I hadn't heard of that.
What a great way to do it. It looked like fun.

Sounds like a pretty good one all around. The costumes were great and your house looked good and spooky-ish! That magic show sounded like a great option. We put our treats out but only 3 were taken. We never get many trick or treaters as it is.

I love all your decorations and the knives in the head are great!! Even though we don't do much celebrating anymore (haven't had trick-or-treaters in our rural location for decades!), I still love the holiday and all that goes with it. Thanks for sharing yours with us. Sounds like it was fun, despite everything going on.

Halloween wasn't originally a thing here in Belgium and has only started to trickle over from you guys in the last decade or so. So, it's not as big here and mainly for kids, who sometimes come trick or treating.
The scar tattoos and knives are brilliant as are your home decorations!
Things might have been a bit different this year, but it seems it was still fun, which is the main thing! xxx

Love your family costumes! We went trick or treating but our neighborhood just had goodie bags set out so there was no interacting. My kids still had fun though!

An outdoor magic show sounds fun! My daughter has to quarantine right now due to exposure, sooo we stayed in for Halloween! :(

The costumes look so fun and it's nice you were able to get out and have a party with your neighbours :) We don't really do Halloween or trick or treating here so we didn't notice the difference this year, haha!

Hope that you are having a lovely day :)

I apologize for the delay I lost my mom.

Your kids are adorable. It is great that you were still able to celebrate Halloween even if it was different this year because of the restriction. Have a nice day.

Oh my goodness, fun Halloween times! You even dressed up, the boys must have enjoyed that. Wait until your sons ask to get real tattoos haha. Our son was almost 18 when he asked to get his first one. And since he had to have our permission, I was thankful he wanted to get a Cross on his shoulder. : )

It looks like you and your family really made the best of Halloween even with COVID. An outdoor magic show sounds like fun too. I wish someone had done something like that in my neighborhood for the kids.
