We are taking a road trip for Spring Break this year.. we used to take them when D was little but since having H we have cut back on the long drives.. the most we have done is go to Niagara Falls and back or Boston and back.. this will be our first mutli state trip. My in laws will also be joining us. I am very excited.. a little apprehensive.. as it always is before going on a trip. Oh you really must.. we have taken road trips as a couple and with D..
when H came along we were not sure how good we would be at handling two children on a mutli destination trip.. but here's to nothing.. right?

Your future road trip sounds like so much fun. I love seeing all of the goodies a place has to offer. I love the unicorn headband; too cute.
Achar sounds yummy! I know for Bahn Mi's, there are pickled veggies in it. My aunty used to give me jars of picked cucumbers; they were delicious. Pickling is something I'd like to try as well. Sorry your book was a bummer. Glad you didn't waste time on it. I have one I'm thinkin' I will put on the DNF shelf.

We used to drive to France when the kids were little. Back then, we only had two. We travel a bit less far now with four, just because the car gets a bit full! Enjoy your road trip. x

We make sweet achars as well as pickled ones. They usually involve a variety of vegetables mixed together.

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. I had always wanted a chocolaty dark floor.. The next thing to take into consideration was the transition between the two floors.. generally what is used it a T- Moulding, that strip you see in the above picture connecting the two floors together. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making ...
