Lately

Lately..

-life has been crazy busy yet uneventful. M got a new job so his hours have been a bit long.. and his absence make us seem incomplete.. plus it makes him more tired and and give this pregnant woman no time to relax. So I snuck in a morning massage after dropping D off at school. And the thing I realized, I can not shut off my brain. The whole hour I tried to empty my mind and stop thinking but I couldn't, then I started to think about how I couldn't stop thinking! I this a girl thing or an A type personality crazy person thing?

-my dishwasher has been broken for over a month now.. and my wonderfully incompetent tech first ordered the wrong part and now they say the part aren't available.. at all! Guess we have to buy a new one.. but the space under our counter is smaller than average so that limits our choices.. :( dish washing is not good for my back.

-i have successfully and uneventfully (thank god) made it to my third trimester.. wohoo.. but also scary.. just three months to go before s/he arrives and turns our worlds upside down and inside out.. in a good way..

-D is growing so fast and talking so much. He wants to do everything by himself which sadly means he's already ceasing to be my little baby.. but then he rushes over to us and demands 'huggy time' and there he is again... my baby!

-a few Monday's ago M was working from home so we dropped D off at school and went out for a breakfast date.. it was nice to squeeze in some us time.

-i have been making Halloween costumes. For a person who can barely hem pants, that is huge. I am not doing anything crazy... just a few simple accessories to create a family costume. Mother Nature and freak storms have caused us to miss two Halloween's in a row so we are looking forward to celebrating this one.

  1. Dish washer part...old repair shops, junk yard or recycle center might have an old washer with the part. Sometimes parts can be found on eBay and the weirdest places.
For back...vinyl floor pads are great in front of the sink, doing dishes or not. They can be pricey, but worth it.
I hope you do get your rest.

  6. Gah, I know all about broken dishwashers. We finally managed to fix ours after 2 months... turns out a whole host of ants had crawled into the switch resulting in a disconnection. Who would've thought!

  11. ah the racing mind....it's a female thing enhanced by the mom thing and kicked into overdrive by pregnancy. that's my theory.

glad there was some time in there for sweet little cuddles and a breakfast date though. those are the things that help settle the mind. :)

  12. Blanking your mind is difficult for anyone. I don't think it's just a female of type A thing but a human thing.

  17. That's a drag about the dishwasher. We were without one for about a year because ours broke and we knew we really needed a kitchen reno but weren't quite ready for it yet, so went without a dishwasher. Not fun at all, and I can imagine really not fun when you're in your third trimester of pregnancy. So I hope you find a solution quickly! So exciting about your baby coming so soon.

  30. I think we're all prone to overloading our brains too much and not knowing how to switch it off! And your little boy is growing so fast, I think no matter how much he grows he'll always need his mummy for something :o) and congrats on the 3rd trimester! Almost there

    Have a great weekend,
