A Gift for Jenny McCarthy

We are back from our trip and we had a blast.. can't wait to share pictures and stories with you all.. soon I hope. Till then..

A few weeks ago I had shared with you this terrific opportunity that had come my way thanks to The Artisan Group, sending a little something to Jenny McCarthy. A big thank you to everyone who had weighed in and helped me make this decision.. it was a pretty close call between two photographs and in the end I went with the always popular Sitting Blue.  


I matted it this time instead of mounting it on wood. I hadn't been 100% satisfied with my gifting to Ms. Frankel. It had been my first time and there was too much self doubt involved in the process. This time around I was a bit, yes just a bit more confident.



I included in the package a bio card (I stumbled upon a crazy deal of 30 free bio cards and all I had to do was pay shipping!) I wrote a little something from me to her on the back. And two business cards.. 


Wrapped it all up in some bright pink tissue and tied a jute string around it.. I am the worse gift wrapper.. my go to is putting the present in a bag and stuffing it with tissue.. so this was quite an accomplishment.

Congratulations on being chosen to give the gift. I think you did a great job wrapping. I'm always surprised when my packages aren't tagged as "suspicious". It's not my strong suit either. :)

The picture is very pretty, you should be so excited. They wouldn't choose you if they didn't think your photos were worth it.

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making ...
