                               This is a photograph of Moshe Safdie's famous Habitat 67. While Mr. Safdie has gone onto design other buildings like the Singapore Airport but Habitat 67 still remains one of his most famous buildings. It is located in Montreal and it was his first building based on his thesis while studying at McGill University. It was envisioned as a revolutionary solution for high-density urban living that retained the benefits of suburban homes, such as private gardens and natural light. While by some the apartment complex was considered a success but it failed in its most primary goal, affordable housing.                               This photograph was taken in Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral in Montreal.                                I thought I had already shared this one. In the last photography post I mentioned us staring up at the stunning blue ceiling.. well this was what I was talking about. The Notre Dame Cathedral in Ottawa, I had never known there was any Notre Dame's other than the famous one in Paris. Turns out there are over 70.. most of them in France. Notre Dame means 'Our Lady'. The beautiful vaulted ceiling has small gold embellishment on the cobalt blue background. When we visited D was a wee one and his favorite.. I mean I will listen to nothing else favorite nursery rhyme was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and this ceiling reminded me of just that. So I named it Starry Blue.  You can buy this print here .                               I took this one back in 2011 when we visited Ottawa with a very little D. The photograph is of the large hanging lights dotting the exterior of the Ottawa Parliament building.
