Our Peru Adventure - Cusco
We put away our hiking shoes and spent the day exploring the city of Cusco. Cusco is the seventh-most populous city in Peru and was once capital of the Inca Empire.
On our first night in Cusco after the Sacred Valley tour we were barely functioning. We did walk to grab some Thai food which I shared earlier and we caught a glimpse of the city but did explore further.
After the Rainbow Mountain tour while we spent some time in our hotel recuperating we did head out a little early so we could wander a bit before dinner.
We ate at the Limbus Restobar in the San Blas area. The area was bustling with activity.
The next day we had a delightful breakfast at the hotel. The view from our hotel rooftop below.
After breakfast we headed out to explore Cusco. We revisited the San Blas area then headed to the historic center.
We wandered around some more before we found a little cafe to grab a cup of coffee. I missed my Ollantaytambo cookie.
and then we headed back to the hotel to pick up our bags and head to the airport.. bidding farewell to Cusco.
We flew into Lima later that night.. spent the better part of the next day there before taking another red eye back home.
Beautiful photos. Thank you so much for sharing this journey ❤️
ReplyDeleteThe architecture, the colourful markets and how the locals are dressed are fantastic. I think I'd struggle with the food like I did in Brazil, it's all meat! xxx
ReplyDeleteVery interesting all of it. The food does look different except for the chips.
ReplyDeleteCusco really sounds like a city full of contrasts—historic charm alongside the bustling energy of daily life. I’m glad you found moments to rest and enjoy the views; those rooftop scenes must have been something special after such demanding days. The market visits sound lively, even if some corners leaned toward the tourist side. Thanks for sharing these quieter, real moments from your adventure.
ReplyDeleteI loved wandering around Cusco and its market with you. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! xxx
ReplyDeleteMany beautiful photos -- my fave is that stunning blue door!
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of your family on the steps!! The market sounds interesting and fun although I am not adventurous at eating things.

ReplyDeleteI can't get over the amazing views you've shown us with all your photos. What a beautiful country.
ReplyDeleteHow do they dry the fruits there I wonder. Was that a huge pineapple slice being held up?
ReplyDeleteSome great views.
ReplyDeleteThe food and views are spectacular. But I'm wondering how one fits that burger in their mouth. It's massive!

Wow, sounds like such an adventure-packed few days! I can totally relate to that post-tour exhaustion — those early starts and high altitudes can really take it out of you. So glad you still managed to wander a bit and soak in the atmosphere of Cusco. It’s such a beautiful city, especially in the early evening when everything starts to come alive. Can’t wait to read more about where you ended up for dinner! 😊🌄🍽️
