The Happiest People...

So.. we had a little Covid scare last week. We found out M who barely leaves the house except to go play cricket once a week in an outdoor field with some friend came into contact with someone who tested positive. Someone who decided to keep it a secret for a week and not tell anyone until another aqcuaintace sussed it out of him. And now everyone at the cricket game and all their families had a bit of a freak out. We cancelled everything.. had our groceries delivered and didn't leave the house till thankfully we got the negative result. But how infuriating.. some people.. argh.

And with the cases on the rise again the kids have gone back to virtual school.. and yet with the kids staying home we get regular emails informing us of students still testing positive.. what? how? Well I'll tell you how.. we had to go to the mall over the weekend.. and I say had to because we needed to return on online purchase and JC Penny has gotten with the program yet and makes you pay to ship returns. And to our shock and surprise the mall was full! The food courts were full. The last time I had ventured into the mall you could get food but couldn't sit down to eat.. not anymore.. there were people everywhere.. noses poping out of every other persons mask... argh. We just wanted to turn around and run out. I just can't.

So I need a major Monday pick me up, but these will just have to do.. plus a lot of coffee. My current Pinterest feed is overflowing with these beautiful and uplifting quotes. So I thought I'd share a few.

  3. I'm glad you are all okay! I am managing the stress of it all as best as I can and keep focusing on that vaccine roll out!

  4. Well I'm glad your story had a happy ending! I'm like you.... I just don't know what people are thinking with some of the behavior I've seen. Don't understand some of the reasoning behind stuff, either: one of my grandkids was exposed at school, so told to quarantine at home and do virtual.... yet his sister (in the same school) wasn't required to go virtual, as well.

Thanks for sharing all the quotes!

  6. Oh, how infuriating! That must have been so scary. I would have totally freaked out. I'm glad to hear you guys are OK though.
After having been closed for about a month, non-essential shops have re-opened last week. Not the brightest idea in the run-up to Christmas, I'm sure, as people are flocking to town centres to do their Christmas shopping! I'm steering well clear! xxx

  8. Wow that was a scare and how selfish of this person. It is incredible how people are not social distancing and getting lazy with their masks. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year.

  10. Yup...it's the same here where we are:( Toronto is in lockdown but the nearby cities are not, so that's where the people are going, and so, our numbers continue to increase. Sigh....so sorry to hear about your husband but good to hear the negative results. I'm scared something like this will happen to us too.
On a good note, love the quotes you picked:)

  11. What is wrong with people :( Good thing M's test came back negative but playing it safe was the right thing to do. With the increase in the numbers, I wouldn't be surprised to see another lockdown soon.

  14. We need as much positivity as we can get. I think it's hard for everyone. Being in lockdown is not good for our mental health (at least most of us) and it shows with how people are acting.
    Glad you guys are okay!!

  15. Glady you were able to get tested and they all came out negative. How inconsiderate of that person; I would have chewed him out. And thank you for reminding me why I avoid the mall. I do go to Target and TJ's when I really have to.

  19. I love all of these!! I know it is scary to see others acting like this is no big deal. That mall scene would have freaked me out. We've gone but it hasn't been bad and only went in two stores. I don't think I want to go from now until after Christmas!

  20. These are wonderful quotes. I am a quote lover, so I appreciated reading them. I especially liked "when you have nothing, when you have everything." That's so true and a great reminder to us all.

May goodness follow you this Christmas season. You are such a good person.

  21. It's seriously SO insane to me te people who keep it a secret and then knowingly expose others- it's so irresponsible and cruel! And for what? To get a cricket game in? Come on. So glad everyone in your household is okay!
