Time for a Few Celebrations

Friday was the kids last day of school.. hello summer! Now usually I love summer vacation. The kids and I are ready to break out of our routines, we don't do any classes or camps and just try to relax (in a A type personality semi organized manner) lol. But we are in the age of COVID and I have already had three months of way too much kid time.. so let's see how this goes.

Tomorrow is D's 10th birthday.. double digits.. so we threw him a surprise party over the weekend. It was a small close friends and kids outdoor backyard party.. we did our due diligence with social distancing, hand washing etc.. It was wonderful seeing everyone after so long.. Not a lot of pictures.. didn't even get one of the cake.. :(  But we had our first pinata

Sunday was Father's Day.. the kids made a coupon book for M

Our restaurants are open for outdoor eating but with elderly parents in the house we are still not ready to venture out for a meal so we did what we've been doing for the past few month.. Mexican take out and left over ice cream cake.. nom nom.

This is so sweet. I remember those coupon books -- best gifts ever from kids. I think I may still have one in my special box. Happy Birthday and Father's Day to your brood! I'm glad you could celebrate.

happy father's day and happy birthday! Yesterday was our first lunch outdoors at a restaurant while visiting our son. We haven't eaten out in over three months and I probably won't in the near future. So glad the kids had fun!!

Happy birthday to D! How wonderful that you were able to throw him a party. It's not easy getting things organized in the age of COVID. I love the idea of that coupon book :-) xxx

Happy birthday D. Happy Father's Day.
You know I think the places that are open are cleaner now then they have ever been if you go to safe places.
Your kids just got out of school? Our schools end in May!

I love how the coupon book came out. Those are good coupons to have! What fun doing a surprise birthday party. I think when you don't get many pictures, it means you had a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday to your son. What a wonderful surprise party you had for him, even if it was a small get together. I smiled at the piñata, as there were many parties where my Mom had a piñata for the kids. And the coupon book brought back memories for me as well. I made one for my Father when I was little. I know it's hard to be at home with the kids all the time, but you're doing the responsible thing by not being around a lot of people right now, especially since you have those precious little ones at home and the elderly parents.

Cute FD coupons. YAY for turning 10 years old. We've gone up to see my parents in the city, wearing masks when we weren't eating.
