Great Wolf Lodge

The past few months, weeks, days have been crazy.. so much has been happening that we've had almost no time to relax and have fun. We've snuck in a dinner here and a movie there.. some fun in the snow but for the most part we're just exhausted..

This last weekend was my dad's one and only weekend in town and April get's super crazy at work for M so we thought.. ESCAPE! And what can be better than a warm indoor water park in this cold wet what is supposed to be spring.. we are still wearing our bubble jackets.

 While we were hoping the weekend was going to be great.. I was still prepared for it to fail. The last time we went to an indoor water park it was cold indoors and D was afraid of most of it. Thank God but we had a blast!

even H got in on the water fun! 

There were seven awesome slides.. three of them especially awesome.. and thanks to my parents being there.. they played with the kids while M and I squeezed in some much needed us time.. we chatted during the long long lines and all the slides required tubes so M and I got to go down them all together..


D got in in on some of the slide action.. there were five child friendly slides.. and he could not get enough!

K, this is awesome!!!! Love that top picture the most, but that bottom one is super sweet. I didn't know about indoor water parks, clever idea for cold spots. Makes me want to take Aria to some of our water parks.

You are so brave! The high slide would terrify me. My girls are water babies as their dad isn't. They love the pool and beach when we go on holiday.

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker.
