Gym Class with D

Image
Before I even start this post I must take a moment to Congratulate the talented Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for her Oscar win, the first win for Pakistan. You give Pakistani women hope as she says "Don't give up on your dreams for change" - Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy   You show the world t he pride of Pakistan is in their artistes & intellectuals. Not in bombs and bans! Now we continue with our scheduled programming :) With it being cold outside I tried to sign up D for a class. He did swim the first two times because he was two young to do anything else and he was a late bloomer when it came to walking so we stuck with swim. The last class came to an end in December so with the start of January and having D be more confident with his walking skills we started a gym class at the wonderful Montclair Geyer Family YMCA. There were a few new toys and activities every week.. he explored.. discovered and shared.. there were many giggles...

Something New from Quebec City

Image
I know I went to Canada months ago but life has been all over the place and I only now got the time to finally finish editing the photographs of Quebec City. The oh so beautiful Old Quebec, I have been waiting to share these with you. I have even tried something a bit different with some of them. Usually I am all about the rich deep colors and high contrast, I like to focus on the details rather than the big picture but I am trying to branch out and try something new.. if you like it I will continue to explore. Okay now enough with all this talk.. time for some photographs.    Down the Lane   Light Outside my Door   Old Quebec Street Under the Arc and Up We Go There is some new style with some old style thrown in.. to see more hurry on over to  Hena Tayeb Photography                                               ...

Free Download: February Desktop Calendar

In collaboration with the wonderfully talented  Victoria  I want to share with you with absolutely adorable desktop calendar. For this month, she has created a deskstop for you to reflect the sweetness that she is feeling in her heart ; ) She couldn't resist (her words not mine) my sunny Venetian chairs. She incorporated a Parisian pup feasting on a plate of spaghetti ala Lady of the Tramp style. Doesn't it make you cheery? I know this post is about a month overdue but I've had my hands full. But better late than never right? We had a fabulous week of warmth and sunshine.. just a tad rain and the waters could have been warmer but it felt good to shed our coats and sweaters and bring our flip flops out of hiding. We spent time splashing in the pool, M had missed out on all of D's swim classes and the only splashing he had seen was in the bath so it was great to see father and son get in some pool time. But D loved the sand so much more.. he was fascinated by the grain and texture, the way it fell from his fingers.. and the ebb and flow of the waves.. giving me a lot of time of just laying on beach chairs and enjoying him at play and reading.. We rented a car and toured the island which is not very big and covered with cacti.. millions and billions of cacti.. a light house, a few gold mine ruins, several beaches as well as dessert like terrain. We took a semi...
