H and His Blue Room

Continuing with yet another post where I failed to do my duty as a blogger and totally forgot to take before pictures until it was almost too late. :( For those of you who haven't been following along on our renovation journey here's a look at what we've been up to lately inside our home

H's room started out brown.. a milky coffee brown. The walls, the trim, the doors.. they were all painted the same color, the carpet a lighter variation of the same.. By the time I remembered that I forgot to take pictures the painters had already started spackling.

In the meantime the carpet was ripped out and the floors refinished. During the refinishing process we learnt a few things too.. beneath the carpet on the hardwood floor we discovered these stains

Turns out the previous family's pet liked to use this room to relieve itself. :( Yup.. gross. We were told that sanding the floor should reduce the stain but they could not guarantee that it would go away.

Yay for us the stains were barely visible after being sanded... the sight of freshly sanded floors is amazing.. so clean and new. We picked Behr's Permafrost; a pretty light blue for H's room.

His chevron rug matches D's except it's blue.. he inherited our dresser and the rest of his old furniture found it way back to his room.

Ikea Spice Rack book shelves and some cute transportation wall decals helped finish the look
