One Line a Day

Image
A few years.. actually almost a decade ago I started a 'one line a day' journal. I blogged about it here . I was never much of a journaling kind growing up. But after D was born I wanted to remember everything.. even the small things. Now almost a decade ago I wish I had started it earlier.. remember more about my pregnancy.. remember the early kid free years of marriage. So much so.. that at the start of the year I started journals for the boys.           Currently I fill the journal for them.. else they'd never do it..  This one is mine.. I'm about the finish my second journal.. it's so much fun looking back at what we did that day in the past years.                    Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Bloglovin

A Belated Birthday Celebration

Image
M and I both had birthdays in early February.. and while we didn't get a chance to do anything then we made a point to celebrate when we did have the time. We started this tradition a year or two ago.. I met M in New York City when he got off work.. we had dinner at Obao.. which was incredible. and then went to go see Little Shop of Horrors at the Westside Theater.  It was a good show.. but we have seen better. I had posted about some of the shows we have seen a few years ago.. you can check it out here .  The next morning we had breakfast at The Smith. We caught up with my cousin who moved to the city a few months ago for school.  It was a beautiful day and we took our time walking back to the bus station.. to head back home.                        Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Bloglovin

Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain Synopsis - After losing her parents, fifteen-year-old Ivy Hart is left to care for her grandmother, older sister and nephew as tenants on a small tobacco farm. As she struggles with her grandmother’s aging, her sister’s mental illness and her own epilepsy, she realizes they might need more than she can give. When Jane Forrester takes a position as Grace County’s newest social worker, she doesn’t realize just how much her help is needed. She quickly becomes emotionally invested in her clients' lives, causing tension with her boss and her new husband. But as Jane is drawn in by the Hart women, she begins to discover the secrets of the small farm—secrets much darker than she would have guessed. Soon, she must decide whether to take drastic action to help them, or risk losing the battle against everything she believes is wrong. Thoughts- This was an extremely interesting and emotional read.. it would make a great book club boo

Things have been busy.. I can't believe we're already half way into February. We have been skiing.. we are getting a little better each year.. haven't completely left the bunny hill behind but we're working on it. We attended a Knicks Game.. our first one.. it was fun.. but I still think I enjoy watching hockey games the most. The kids participated in their school science fair.. My parents, who were in town in December are back in town again and before they left the country they wanted to do one more little getaway with the boys.. so we made a quick trip to DC over the weekend..  M and I also had our birthdays last week.. the celebration has been postponed but it's something I'm really really looking forward to.  We recently picked up Ben Clanton's Narwhal books for H and these are the cutest books.. even D has been joining us for story time each night. If you have a little reader in the house.. or know a little reader, the
