Pumpkins and Leaves

We are half way through October and it has been busy.  School, sports and other extra curriculars will our weekdays and the weekends just fly by. Last weekend we swung by a local pumpkin patch.. D wanted a white pumpkin this year.

And since last weekend was a long weekend M took Monday off and we went for a hike. D's friend joined us. We drove up to northern New Jersey, close to the Del-Water Gap and hike the 2.5 mile red dot trail up Mount Tammany. The weather was perfect and the hike was great. Lots of rocks to climb over.. The kids loved it..

The mountain you see across the water is Mount Minsi, Pennsylvania.

Look at all the beautiful mushroom's we found! The leaves we're really at peak color yet.. oh well.

On the way down we followed the blue dots which led us to Dunnfield Creek Falls

You'll have to show us the carved jack-o-lanterns made from those fab pumpkins! And what spectacular scenery on your hike!
I'm loving that pumpkin patch, which makes me want to visit one too. I love D's choice of a white pumpkin. And how absolutely stunning are the views from your hike! xxx
Great photos of the patch and the hike. I usually get an orange and a white pumpkin - something different!

What a beautiful hike! I wanted a white pumpkin too, but we got some green ones (those Cinderella ones) and some bright orange ones.

What a fun day at the pumpkin patch! It's one of my favorite places to go.
Although I love the orange pumpkins, the white pumpkins are sweet, and your
son found a BIG white perfect one. That picture of them in the wagon made
me smile. How I remember those special times when the kids were little.
What a beautiful place for you all to hike. Such wonderful views on every side. You are enjoying this glorious season to the fullest. These are
treasured times with your family.

Hiking in autumn is fabulous! How have some amazing countryside on your door steps.
We've had really mild weather in the Northeast so far this fall. Perfect for all these fun activities.
I have a good friend that lives in New Jersey. I'll have to ask her if she's ever hiked there. I went for a walk yesterday and saw all kinds of mushrooms!
