The Summer of '17

Knowing that we weren't going to get to spend the summer with the boys this year.. we tried to do as much as we could with them before we left.

One of M's colleagues took us out on his boat :)

Enjoyed some 59c pancakes :)

Tried to use our imagination.

Played a lot of Battleship.. a lot!

Tried to rollerskate

Visited the High Line Park.. one of my favorite places in the city

Went biking.. D managed to go 4 miles.. we were very impressed.

A baby visited. My brother's son.. it was great to see the boys bond.

and then the grandparents arrived. They did a wonderful job taking
care of the kids while we were gone. For which we are very thankful.
In fact I think the boys were a little disappointed to see us return and them go.

  1. So much fun before you left, I can understand your thinking that the kids missed the grandparents when the left. haha. I think that is typical sometimes! It even happens that way with our cats. LOL. XO - Alexandra

  2. Hi Hena, it's nice to see you back again. It looks like you made some fun memories with the boys before you left for the hajj. I hope the experience was very good for you and your husband. You must have been so happy to see the boys again when you came back. I'm glad you had the chance to do it. I hope everyone is settling back into life at home together now. Take care.

  3. Last time we were in NYC we went to High Line Park, I love it too! There was a lot of construction going around when we were there, but I guess that is all part of NYC! I would def. go back. :)

  5. Grandparents are priceless. I am thankful for my parents every day and our girls get so spoiled by them. What fun you four had.
Thank you for your sweet comment about my cards. Sometimes they come out really good and other times good. I've been actually redoing a card here and there if I don't like the initial results.
