Down the Rabbit Hole - It was taken in 2009 when M and I did our big European adventure. Before we had kids and before I was so active on his blog. I wish I had been more active, wish i had had a better documentation on the trip. I remember having taken notes on a piece of paper somewhere.. jotting down where we ate etc.. Now if only i knew where that piece of paper was!

A simple oblong staircase in the Vatican Museum. I liked the simplicity of it. It was more modern and less fancy than the more famous staircase of the Vatican Museum. While people were all over the latter, the former staircase, my subject matter was left alone, not a sole insight.

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making ...
