The getting messy part was not something he enjoyed.. in fact I was surprised that of the five kids there three had issues with getting dirty and either shied away from it or needed a constant had washing. Is it me or are kids supposed to love getting messy? It was until the very last day that D really opened up and was willing to dip his hand in paint and go crazy (as crazy as he can get)
At the end of the class they'd wind down with a story..
In other news: Sold a 20x30 gallery wrap canvas of 'Violet Queen' to a wonderful home in Australia :)
that is amazing! i love that you are taking your son to an art class! such a great outlet for kids, and what a way to inspire a love for the arts at such an early age! thank you for the idea... i'm totally going to look into that for my daughter.
It looks like he was having so much fun! It's funny how some kids don't like to be messy and others have no problem - my niece was like that. She had to be all washed up the second something got on her hands. I remember being a mess most of the time when I was a kid though.
That is such a cool class. I was as surprise as you were reading how the kids were not liking the idea of getting dirty. I would think it would be a free for all.
Thanks Stacy, he really did enjoy the class. I am a bit confused when you ask about 5 little kids, I just have one.. the other children were also attending the class with their mothers.
I agreed with your thought, this was a wonderful class.. there were many different activities and mediums to explore and a great way for D open up. i have come across your post and see that you have added here great post, you are doing very nice art work with five little kids, i thing you have faced botheration so many time when you handle them. But they must be fun.
When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task.. Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. I had always wanted a chocolaty dark floor.. The next thing to take into consideration was the transition between the two floors.. generally what is used it a T- Moulding, that strip you see in the above picture connecting the two floors together. Not the prettiest option. Pinterest to the rescue.. Adding tile to the mix would help to blend the two different brown together and there would be no awkward bump in t...
Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic.. Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making ...
