The Story Of Us

                              This was taken inside the stunning Jerónimos Monastery is Lisbon, Portugal built in 1495. It is a former monastery of the Order of Saint Jerome near the Tagus river in the parish of Belém. It is one of the most prominent examples of the late Portuguese Gothic Manueline style. It is also the final resting place of Vasco da Gama along with kings Manuel I and John III. Hello hello.. how is everyone doing?  M went on three trips this month and they all happened to be back to back. He flew to a conference in Europe and a friends reunion in Morocco and then another conference in Florida.  Before he left we went out for date night. We went to our local favorite.. 618. They food is great.. and has gorgeous decor. Plus  they make amazing mocktails as well..how  pretty is that? The food we inhaled.. next time I will try to remember to take pictures. D has been working on his bowling skills in preparation for bowling season in his high school. We go to the local bowling alley at least twice and week... more if we could manage it and on Thursday he scored his first 159.   H's middle school band was invited to play with the high school marching band on homecoming. This is another photograph taken in Portugal. It was taken inside the Belem Tower. The tower symbolizes Portugal's maritime and colonial power in early modern Europe. Today I share with you another tunnel photograph.While the first was taken in Spain, this one was taken in Portugal. It was taken in the beautiful Sintra. A place I still dream about and would love to go back to.  Thi s illuminated tunnel was in Quinta da Regaleira, an old manor built by an eccentric freemason. Things have been busy but not much has been happening. Mostly routine.. both kids have joined clubs so most days one of them is not coming home on the bus and I have to pick them up.  The weather has been getting nicer.. though the afternoons are still pretty hot.. the air condition has officially been off for over a week. Cross that, I wrote too soon, we had to turn it in last night and we’ll be hitting 80 the next few days.  Oh well.  I love spotting mushrooms on walks. I even saw a skunk the other day.. that I stayed far far away from.  I started a new puzzle. How do you puzzle? Do you make the border first or do you just go for it. On Thursday we went into the city as the kids had the day off. We tried out some new interactive gaming place called GameBox. It was fun and we have tons of videos of everyone behaving silly.
