It's Our Birthday!

Image
I am celebrating my birthday today and M tomorrow.. wohoo. We may get a cake between the two of us that H will most probably cut for us and insist we sing Happy Birthday to him because in reality it's his birthday.. lol. When we first got married we would start celebrating the Friday night closest to our birthday and it would go on till the end of the weekend.. there was less celebrating once we had kids. Last year my mother was visiting around the time and we decided to change things up and went away to a local bed and breakfast for the night. This year we're hoping to do something similar but for longer than just the night and farther than just a drive away. SO EXCITED!!! I wanted to share some cute and funny cards I found online.. any of you still give greeting cards?   Scribbler   Wit and Whistle   Finch and the Fallow   Finch and the Fallow   Sioux Alice   Knotty Cards and here's a glimpse of the card D made for M

February is a a big month in our house.. we have so much to celebrate. I celebrate a birthday and while I'm not there yet.. next year I'll be celebrating a big milestone birthday with a big 0 at the end.. yikes. M celebrates his birthday the very minutes mine comes to an end.. so it's a two day celebration.. though sometimes we celebrate just all week long. :) We also got engaged during this fabulous month.. and then there is Valentine's Day which honestly just gets over shadowed by all the other awesomeness of the month. This year and hopefully if you like every year from here on out I am going to host a BIG BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY! Eleven days and eleven great prizes.. As you can imagine there is a lot going on lately.. My mom flew in a week or two before little H came and has been living with us since.. which means tons of bonding with the boys (a great plus since she lives continents away and the only bonding time she usually gets is via skype) plus tons of rest for me. What will I do when she leaves!? We have had snow.. so much snow.. well most of the country has had it's share of the snow by now .. and while it started out fun.. our house has a slope in the back so we all.. all except little H went sledding for the first time..ever! It was a lot more fun than I had expected. But now I am done.. I don't want to see another snowflake till December! I'm sitting here by our window watching the snow fall as I type this! H is a month and a half.. a month and a half! Can you believe it? I can't. D is being an excellent big brother.. he sings to H, makes grossed out faces when The H.. yes he like to add 'the' before

The year has just begun and I feel like it's already passing by in a blur. Early in the month H had his birthday party .. we had requested no boxed gifts, thankfully most people complied and with those gift cards we got H a gift we thought he'd love.. and he did love it.. for about a week! and then one Saturday morning he asked me to sell it. They have understood the fact that mommy likes to sell the things no one is using and or things we do not need.. and so now he quite often asks me to sell his broken toys, used crayons and so on so forth. After double and triple checking with him M packed it up and off it went to another child's house who will hopefully love and play with it for longer than a few days. What H does love are his Lego's and Magformers.  What we have here is a Booger Cleaner.. it's for the kids who like to eat their boogers.. when the stomach becomes full of boogers you put this in your mouth and it'll suck out all the boog

Paperless Post

I have more travel posts coming.. I promise. Just haven't found the time to go through the rest of the pictures yet. Till then.. This post was sponsored  by Anagram Interactive I used to be one of those people who remembered everyone's birthday. I even had a card guy I visited regularly. And then came the internet and Facebook. Life got busier and it was just so much easier to write on someone's wall and now there are just so many ways to say Happy Birthday.. most not very personal. I miss the personal touch, the phone calls and the cards. With Mother's Day coming up and my mom continents away I was thinking of something more than a phone call. The postal system back home sucks so sending something was out of the question. I wasn't really thinking that a card would do until I spotted this one. I couldn't have said it better myself.. and I found this gem at Paperless Post . Paperless Post is the brain child of siblings James and Alexa Hirschfeld to prove th

H Turns One

We started the year off with H's first birthday party.. and I am so happy to report it was a huge success.. everything went smoothly, all the kids especially my two boys had a blast.. the birthday boy was tear free! I was no sure about a theme at first.. one thing I knew was that I wanted.. needed it to be something simple and cute.. and what is cuter that a rubber ducky? We sent out evites.. thank God for evite.. it makes things so much easier. Favors: from Oriental Trading Cake: I went with delicious adorable cupcakes made by my oh so talented friend.. and a little smash cake for little H. from Walmart I got these little blue cardboard cupcake stands...cute and easy to assemble. Decor: Except for a few balloon near the cake table me did no extra decoration.. we were already in a nice restaurant and it just didn't seem worth the hassle.  Entertainment: Since we had a majority of older kids including D we needed to keep them entertained.
