The year has just begun and I feel like it's already passing by in a blur. Early in the month H had his birthday party .. we had requested no boxed gifts, thankfully most people complied and with those gift cards we got H a gift we thought he'd love.. and he did love it.. for about a week! and then one Saturday morning he asked me to sell it. They have understood the fact that mommy likes to sell the things no one is using and or things we do not need.. and so now he quite often asks me to sell his broken toys, used crayons and so on so forth. After double and triple checking with him M packed it up and off it went to another child's house who will hopefully love and play with it for longer than a few days. What H does love are his Lego's and Magformers.  What we have here is a Booger Cleaner.. it's for the kids who like to eat their boogers.. when the stomach becomes full of boogers you put this in your mouth and it'll suck out all the boog

hey guys.. here we are in November.. as the year winds down I have been obsessed with winter cleaning.. I have taken it upon myself to wash the walls.. my mother's friend had this brilliant idea to use a Swiffer to wash the walls and I am loving it.. every weekend I pick a room and Swiffer away.. and when I see those little smudging toddler finger prints vanish it fills me with joy..  This is something I do all year around but with holiday shopping around the corner I have been doing it more often.. going through the house and finding things we have no need for and selling them on ebay . Also gives me great joy..  We have a little getaway planned around Christmas time.. and an even more exciting trip is being planned for spring break.. yay!  source Speaking of jobs.. I am venturing into family portraits.. I had my first shoot yesterday, it is a change working with people after years of taking photographs of inanimate objects.. but I am looking forward to trying ou

The Journey Begins - Karachi

this post was meant for last week but some error occurred and it disappeared and in the craziness that is life it took so long to re write it :( Happy Labor Day my fellow American's... hope you are all enjoying your long weekend   Flying to Karachi is a minimum 16 hour ordeal.. there are no direct flights either. We flew via Emirates with an hour and a half stopover in Dubai. I started planning weeks in advance.. not so much for once we landed but mainly for the 16 hours it would take to get there.. I was very nervous about the flight. I packed snacks, water bottle, candy in case of emergencies like a crying fit.. I also packed a book each, a coloring book for H  those invisible ink ones , activity book for D, a bag of lego's and play doh.. my bag was full! Plus of course extra change of clothes for everyone and plastic bags.. D is our resident vomitter.  Thank God some twenty hours later we were safely in Karachi.. I say twenty because we had some flight delays in

Un-Welcome Home

This was not the first post I was expecting to write after returning from my summer hiatus. After a great trip back home and an even more fun stop over we were all a bit home sick and so happy when we finally landed in JFK. Our 8pm flight stood on the tarmac for another hour because of some rain which caused the departing flights to be delayed and hence an airplane traffic jam! what annoys me is that with all the technological advancements why do we still have to put up with these slight weather delays.. it was light rain not a thunderstorm!! We disembarked the plan around 9:30pm making our way to a hallway that led to stairs that would eventually lead us to immigration. Because of all the delays there was a significant crowd.. everyone tired.. and then we heard the vibration.. it took a second to place and then we saw it.. everyone was turning and running.. running towards us! I had H sleeping in my arms.. I ran.. I didn't know what to do.. I went to the nearest wall and clung
