The Story Of Us

In case you haven't heard... they did it.. Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell raised over 2 million dollars in just one day via Kickstarter campaign to show to the networks how many people still cared about the show even after a little less than 10 years of it's first airing. And now they are making the movie! This show had it all.. romance, tragedy, teen angst, drama, mystery, danger, hot actors, great dialogue, a long list of guest stars.. some already big and some on their way to making it big. And I know I already said great dialogue but it really did, full of pop culture references and witty, sassy snark! It also dealt with issues of date rape, teen pregnancy, the over privileged, gangs, sex tapes and everything in between. Unfortunately it suffered something so many teen shows face and very few overcome. Graduation. These shows strive in there high school environment and when it come time to grow up and move on it is difficult to keep everyone in the same town, college

Pictures do no justice to the awesomeness we saw, it was perfect. D's mouth hung open, eyes wide is awe; at other times he was jumping up and down dancing to the music. I think I spent more time watching him than the actual performers. Pure joy. It was almost a 3 hour show.. 13 tigers, 8 elephants (who i noticed are comfortable taking a dump while they perform) 8 horses, a few bunnys and poodles.. so many poodles (they were surprisingly one of my favorites) Gone are the days of beer bellied clowns, everyone was young and fit, most performances were dance centric. There were acrobats, tightrope artists, trampoline artists (one of my favorite performances) and the incredible spinning rings performance.. wow. Such an amazing experience..  p.s thank you for all your wonderful comforting words on my last post. Tonight we are going to the circus! The Ringling Brother's and Barnum&Bailey are in town and I am so excited.. it's my first circus as well as D and M's first circus.. and I am waiting to see my boy's eyes widen and face light up in awe and here him say 'wow' so they better not disappoint. Last weekend I had a sick husband on my hands... a sick husband who was living on soups. Instead of making a huge pot of one kind of soup and living on it (which M would hate) I took this as an opportunity to make soups.. hearty enough to fill me sick man's stomach and mine too.. The first is my favorite and one of my go to soups.. it is Sunny Anderson's Roasted Tomato Soup . This soup is rich, hearty and absolutely delicious. I add a green pepper to for an extra kick. picture source My second soup of the weekend was a Southern Chicken Corn Chowder . First time making this one and it was another winner.. i omitted the bacon bits and M and I are not a fan of celery.. but next I think I'd add a second jalapeno or a dash a paprika.
