On the way Down - I am fascinated by spiral staircases, I love the depth and repetition when you look down or up at them from a mid point. The effect is often dizzying. Inside the Tower of Belem, Portugal there were these narrow winding concrete steps; a black and white toning simply added to their character. You can buy this print  here .     Light the Way Home - About 45 minutes outside of Lisbon is the idyllic small town of Sintra. A must see if you ever find yourself in Portugal. There, there is the Quinta da Regaleira, a world heritage site by UNESCO and an exuberantly Gothic garden, with hidden tunnels, inverted tower, winding paths, a chapel and a small palace. This photograph was taken inside a hidden tunnel. You can buy this print here .         Heaven's Web - The high ceilings of the chapel inside the extraordinary Jerónimos Monastery, in Belem, Lisbon. It is a small serene parish just outside the main city of Lisbon. The same parish Vasco Da Gama had set sail from. The place that has the most delicious custard tarts. In celebration of World Photography Day I thought I'd take you around the world with me and share some of the places I have been a Rome Lisbon Iran New York New England Paris   Pakistan Barcelona and I'll leave you with a quote "A lot of photographers think that if they buy a better camera they'll be able to take better photographs. A better camera won't do a thing for you if you don't have anything in your head or in your heart" - Arnold Newman
