NYBG Holiday Train Show

Image
How have everyone's December been coming along? Our's has been especially busy. We've had something to do every weekend.. which is rare for us.. we have fully embraced the holiday season this year and so much more planned for the coming weeks.. so this might just be my last post of the year.. One of the coolest things we did this month was a visit to the NYBG Holiday Train Show. Wewere joined by M's cousin and family who has recently moved nearby. W e are so happy to finally have family close and the boys are thrilled at having a cousin to play with. This was our second time visiting and it was still as amazing and awe inspiring as last year. Everything is made purely out of nature.. in some instances even the trains! Wishing you all a Happy Holidays and  Happy New Year.. from our family to yours xoxo                    Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Bloglovin

Glass Fusing with the Boys

Image
Over the summer I had bought a Groupon for a glass making place called Make It Glass and while we didn't get a chance to use it during the summer we headed out there with the boys last week before the Groupon expired. I'm glad we did.. it was such an interesting experience.  Both boys glued and layered their little pieces of colorful glass. Once finished we learned about the different temperatures the glass pieces are fused together at. Now while my brain has forgotten the temps I can surely say there was the option of high and medium.. lol. High results in a smooth finish while medium it more textured. So we went with a smooth finish on H's piece and a textured finish for D's piece.           The before and after of H's creation! And up on the wall in his room as a switch plate.  The before and after of D's creation! and up on the wall as a switch plate.                            Etsy             Instagram

A Clean Slate

Image
Hope you all had a great holiday.. we spent most of our time at home relaxing and catching up on some much needed rest and home time. We did go out Thanksgiving morning to watch Coco in the theater.. great movie.. we really liked it. Last week I shared with you our new patio  well while we were having the back ripped out and since we already had all the machinery we thought we get the front of the house too.  The landscaping we inherited with the house was taking over the entire front yard.. all the bushes blocked our view and maintaining all the overgrown was tiresome.. we also had no direct walkway from the door to the street.. except for going all the way down the driveway.. so we found that we along with delivery people, guests.. all usually just ended up walking through the grass and around all the plants. Not something we loved.. so.. We got it all pulled out to start with a clean slate.                          Etsy             Instagra

Shroom Climbing - The season was autumn, the spot, Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire. It is a 35 mile long scenic route through the White Mountains. Along the stunningly scenic route there are no gas stations, no eateries just pure nature. Scattered along the route are parking areas, view points and hiking trails. On one of our many hikes through the White Mountain I came across this gorgeous growth of mushrooms at the foot of a tree. I was mesmerized. You can buy this print  here .
