Shroom Climbing - The season was autumn, the spot, Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire. It is a 35 mile long scenic route through the White Mountains. Along the stunningly scenic route there are no gas stations, no eateries just pure nature. Scattered along the route are parking areas, view points and hiking trails. On one of our many hikes through the White Mountain I came across this gorgeous growth of mushrooms at the foot of a tree. I was mesmerized. You can buy this print  here . The Formal Living Room

Image
This post has been long over due.. while we started working on this room almost exactly a year ago it has taken us on and off all that time to get it just right. It is our least used room, saved mostly for guests so we weren't really in a hurry. And in true crappy blogger fashion I forgot to take before pictures! But I assure you it was an ugly drab green. After picking colors for four different rooms I was all out of colors. The formal room came with a chair rail which I love but which also meant I had to choose two more colors.. argh. Thank you Behr.com this is not a sponsored post It was a life saver when it came to picking out colors. We don't usually bring home samples to test out.. we go with our gut and just paint.  Too Blue? I like the purple.. the screen shots don't do it justice but M said no blue. So what goes with purple that's not going to make it a girly room.. or too out there.. no oranges or reds.. how about a tan coffee color?

I want to start off by saying I am very excited to start a new venture. Hena Tayeb Photography will now be accepting wholesale orders! Spread the word! Hand of the Help - Color, wrinkles, nails, veins, slenderness and length; so many things make up a hand, so many characteristics. Each hand different from the last, each hand with its own personality, with its own story. This hand is of a janitorial woman working in my college. She was taking a break, resting her hand and taking a breath, some peace from her otherwise tiresome day. The contrast of the color of her skin and her clothes, the position and placement of her hand, her posture, everything came together to make what would seem like an ordinary image into an extraordinary photograph.    You can buy this print  here  Get Free Shipping with code BLOGGER Prints also available in larger sizes.  Contact  for more information and special requests. Love this print but don't think your wall is ready just yet.. ho

I have been a bit absent.. I have a ton to post about but for some of it I'm not ready just yet. Mostly we are in between a lot of things.. like.. We have ordered window treatments for our and the boys rooms.. We went back and forth about curtains.. I thought about stenciling fun curtains for the boys like I had done before for D's nursery . But in all honesty I just don't have the time for a DIY. We bought and returned a few different curtains for our room.. our windows are placed oddly.. the set of windows on the other side are not a problem but this little one behind the bed is awkward.. so we thought roman shades? I'm mulling over the placement of art and photographs too.. something off center maybe..? Thinking thinking.. planning planning.. Speaking of planning.. we are also planning our vacation days.. hopefully my ankle will be better by then.. in case you haven't been following along here's the ankle story . I am now taking two medicines... and
