Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! We had a party at our home on Saturday.. spent Sunday recovering and cleaning. And today H went dressed up, he will have a parade and a class party and then trick or treating at night. D cares a lot less as he is 'older' now. I have been hosting the Halloween party for years now.. it is low key.. so crazy elaborate costumes.. we mostly stick to cat ears and scary masks.. it's more about the getting together than anything else. Initially I put in a lot of effort with themed food. By now I feel like I have already done most of the ideas.. and I don't want to making the more crazy elaborate things out there on the internet. I want to keep entertaining fun and honestly as long as the food is good our friends don't care. So this time I went with an Asian theme and made this  with noodles, this with rice, this salad, Costco vegetable spring rolls and the best coconut soup which no matter how much I make we never have leftovers, plus  these for

Now that we have wrapped up our Greece adventure   I guess we have no choice but to talk about the now. What have we been up to lately..  Not much honestly, kids are back to their regular routines of school and extracurriculars. H is really into all sports right now.. so he plays a little soccer, basketball and tennis. D on the other hand plays tennis and is in the math club and coding class. Meaning time is scarce and then of course the heaps of homework D gets is a whole other story. So not much excitement over the week.  The boys did manage to go watch a Giants game. They even got to fist bump a player whose name I have already forgotten.  We also put up our Halloween decorations. Halloween is a big holiday for us, we host a yearly party as well. I'll share more pics later.  I have been keeping an eye out for some versatile earrings.. I wore hoops on our trip and I loved how they elevated the looks, went with everything and were easy to pack. I found some chic hoop earrings .

How was everyone's Halloweens? We are big on Halloween.. it's the one holiday we properly celebrate.. we host a party every year.. here's last years shenanigan's. We dress up.. nothing over the top but we do a little something.. we decorate the house.. go trick or treating..  This year everything was a little different.. no party for one. :(  While the kids are going to school in person for a couple of days a week the school decided that Halloween would be celebrated on the day everyone is virtual. I convinced the boys to opt for low key costumes.. we bought these scar tattoos from Target  last year for M's costume and had plenty to spare add a knife through the head and voila. They had their virtual parties on Zoom. It a good thing kids are easy to please.  We decorated the outside of the house.. we add a little every year. Its a mix of store bought and DIY. The bats and black webs are hand cut We opted against Trick or Treating.. but a neighbor invited the kids o

Hope everyone had great weekend.. We celebrated Halloween on Thursday, rain was on the forecast but with lost of wishing and praying it turned out to be a beautiful night. The kids scored a ton of candy.. On Saturday we had our annual Halloween party.. it was our third year hosting. M and the kids really love to get crafty with the decor. We didn't add much to our last years outdoor decorations.. They made these milk jug lights last year .         The boys decorated the brownie balls I made.  I made a red juice with floating lychee eye balls.. didn't get a picture of the juice but here are some of the leftover eye balls and some green pistachio zombie ice cream.. as well as other non Halloween themed food. M and I completely forgot to get a selfie.. so here's a cropped group shot of us.. We had a wonderful time.. lots of laughs.. the only little snafu was the morning of the party we realized our dishwash

Halloween Weekend

I'm going to take a break from Denmark posts this week for a Halloween post. Will be back with one last Denmark post next week.. We had a pretty good Halloween this year. We were hosting a Halloween party so we were in an especially festive mood. We decorated the house.. the balloon ghosts were especially fun to make and M was busy cutting up garbage bags making spider webs.. next time he wants to make a spider too. This year H was a bit spooked and was afraid of going into any room with a white balloon. It was kinda funny.  I made mummified chicken tenders for the kids and mummified jalapeno's poppers for the adults.. It was a pot luck so everyone pitched it. I made some orange sherbet punch.. my first time ever making punch and surprise surprise it was a hit.. the kids got a kick out of the eye balls floating about. One of my friends daughter made these adorable witch hats.  after lunch the kids decorated foam pumpki
