Not so long ago I shared with you the amazing opportunity I had gotten courtesy of The Artisan Group to gift HGTV designer Genevieve Gordor . It was a not easy picking the photograph and thanks to all of you who helped me with your votes. In the end it was a close call between two photographs. The Arches Heaven's Web And in the end the, with M's help as my tie breaker I chose... I included a few business cards, a bio and a little note. and then wrapped it up all pretty and pink! Dining Chairs Redone

When D allows, which is not very often I like to have my breakfast while watching Good Morning America and maybe even squeeze in a little Kelly Ripa. Luckily, I was able to catch GMA the day Lara Spencer shared with us her passion for interior design and she even gave a few tips she uses in her home. One of them, upholstering dining table chairs with shower curtains. Yes, shower curtains! If I was a cartoon character you would have seen a light bulb go on outside my head! It is child resistant which is exactly what we needed. Our old chairs were very gross and only getting more questionable with D's every meal. Now we were on the search for the perfect shower curtain. Our living area is divided by our sofa and behind it is our dining area. The dominant colors in the area are dark gray and black, white and red. We were looking preferably for a pattern and we wanted to keep the budget low. Our choice of shower curtain: I am a bit disappointed with the pictures I took..our littl

Ramadan Mubarak

Image
Today is the first day of Ramadan. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It is a month where we practice self control, devote more time to prayer, reflect on the many blessings from Allah and give thanks. We do this by fasting for 30 consecutive days. We start by waking in the middle of the night before dawn to eat a meal called 'sehori' to help sustain us through the day and break our fast with preferably a date at dusk called 'iftaar' which in the long summer months is going to be somewhere around 8:25pm.. yikes! Back in Pakistan we would congregate at the masjid at this time, it was always a fun daily social gathering with the perfect balance of prayers, catching up with people and food :) But it is harder to replicate the atmosphere here.. our masjid is about an hour away and M works an hour away from home so with the commute it often becomes difficult to go to the masjid every night..  so we stay at home and make the most of it trying not to miss 'h

A few months ago I was contacted by an art consultant.. they asked me about six of my photographs.. and unlike before (where they ask for a quote and when they realize you aren't going to give your work away for free they disappear) they came back wanting the work enlarged and shipped out to them as soon as possible. So I got to work.   Chocolate and Lime Mirrored  Squared In Arches  There's me in my pj's in awe of my awesomeness.. Light Outside My Door M looks pretty awestruck too don't you think? Scribbled Art and then as if this wasn't already one of the most awesome things to happen to me (professionally) they said they wanted three more..! I was happy dancing all over the place.   Growth Man Halved Shroom Climbing  My photographs hanging in there new home.. the Regional Headquarters of PNC Bank, New Jersey. Good morning everyone. I'd like to start off by saying thank you everyone for your wonderful comments on Monday's post . You all were a big help, the votes are in, I hope to have Genevieve's gift ready to post by next week and I'll share with you the final result. I also want to share with you a project I am currently working on with some fellow New York artists. We co found a group this year called EARN and our IndieGoGo campaign just went live here  Our aim is to raise enough funds to rent a gallery space in Manhattan allowing us all to have a place to exhibit our work both as a group and as individuals. Pool together our resources and contacts and help each other grow. I would really appreciate it if you could help me spread the word and a contribution would be amazing. Thank you. Now getting to today's post.. remember how we went to Aruba back in December? I was so swamped with other projects.. mainly an ever energetic D that it wasn't till March that I

The travel posts have come to an end.. thank you all for joining us on the trip and leaving your lovely comments.. I love reading each and everyone one of them.. as for my more silent readers.. I would love to hear what you have to say.. Today I bring you some awesome news.. courtesy of the fabulous Artisan Group I have gotten the spectacular opportunity to gift none other than one of the darlings of HGTV Genevieve Gordor. I love her sense of style, she creates gorgeous spaces and has such heart. And I don't want to get my expectations to high but this gifting could have great potential. She is an interior decorator and don't they always need some fabulous art for their clients homes? But lets not get ahead of ourselves.. I still have the hardest job ahead of me and here I am asking for your advice yet again.. which photograph should I give her? It needs to be the essence of what I represent as an artist, intriguing enough to make her want to check out my website.. I am ge
