I know I've been a little MIA, well after our big birthday getaway my brother, sis in law and little baby visited, sis in law and baby are still here and my mom is visiting too. And with all the beautiful weather we had been having over the weekend, it felt like a crime to stay indoors.  Getting back to our trip.. yay! Can't believe it's already been two weeks since we came back. Unlike last year when we stayed local and just stayed away for a day this year we decided to stay away a little longer and go away a little farther. We don't drink or gamble so why Vegas? We didn't want to go anywhere where we'd think 'aw if only the boys were here' and we don't like to go to the same place twice (with few exceptions) so Vegas seemed like the obvious choice. My brother is coming to visit next week and my mom later in the month and they both very conveniently task me with buying the boys a little something from them. D is easy; books, puzzles, board games. He is the eldest so we are always looking to bring new things into the home allowing new experiences. H is a little harder. We still have so many of D's toddler toys around the house that rarely think of getting him something. I know.. I feel the guilt. So the past few days I have been on the look out for toys for 3 year old boys   My go to when picking a toy is always something educational .. I love a great puzzle  or building toys.  Don't let that smile fool you.. I am celebrating my birthday today and M tomorrow.. wohoo. We may get a cake between the two of us that H will most probably cut for us and insist we sing Happy Birthday to him because in reality it's his birthday.. lol. When we first got married we would start celebrating the Friday night closest to our birthday and it would go on till the end of the weekend.. there was less celebrating once we had kids. Last year my mother was visiting around the time and we decided to change things up and went away to a local bed and breakfast for the night. This year we're hoping to do something similar but for longer than just the night and farther than just a drive away. SO EXCITED!!! I tried but I just couldn't bring myself to post about anything today.. this country that I call home is breaking my heart. To think we were in the land of the free.. it is not just the orange man and his actions it is the fact that half the country supported this man. We consider ourselves lucky to live in a state that is more diverse and accepting but not all states are such. And I pray for my fellow brown men, women and children whose lives will be so greatly affected by ignorance and fear of an incorrect stereotype.  I am moved to tears by the hope that flickers, when I see people of all colors, race and religion protesting against the injustices against one.. I see all the good in so many of my fellow American's and it reminds me of why I call this great country home. I don't like to get political on this blog but I don't really see this an being political. This is our lives, our future we are talking about and the side you are standing on today will shape
