The Story Of Us

It was Sunday night and the wind had began to rattle our windows, the red leaves flew off our big tree that was just moments ago full. We tried to get dinner on the table early, before we 'god forbid' lost power. The lights flickered and it was dark and within moments it returned.. relief. We hurried to the table and it went dark again only to return. We were midway into our dinner went it went dark again.. this time power did not return. So we ate a bite or two, out appetites lost. We put D to sleep and watched the our now naked tree, the street abandoned and dark, the rain pummeling the ground. And then, while we watched, it happened. A big black monster flew out from behind our home and fell onto our wires. It reminded M and I of a dementor (oh how I miss Harry Potter). It wasn't long before the police arrived and a fire truck. They inspected the area, located two car owners and had their cars removed from the area and then they tied yellow tape around our house. We

We are at the end of the trip.. the trip we took at the end of May.. :) but I am enjoying the experience of reliving it through my posts. We are now back in New Jersey and stopped in none other than the Jersey Shore.. and saw our fair share of GTLers. Our hotel was in Somers Point just a few minutes and a bridge away from Ocean City. We spent all of our time on the boardwalk.. and spent some time in both Gillians Wonderland Pier and well as Playland's Castaway Cove.   D had his first ride..  we all sat on our first Ferris Wheel  and had our first funnel cake  We had breakfast at Uncle Bills Pancake House.. a nice breakfast but nothing out of this world.. why I bring it up is because of one of the reviews I read.. the reviewer called Uncles Bills 'the hoosters of high school girls' and she went on to say most people come to this particular pancake house to 'keep Dad happy - stare at the girls in their little dresses and think what he wants'

Hey everyone.. we are getting ready for a road trip.. : ) Though first I'd like to say thank you so much for all the lovely Mother's Day comments.. yes he has big cute eyes and he knows how to use them.. Now back to the road trip. We love a good road trip and try to take one every year.. M does most of the driving, D naps in the back and I talk, sing (badly) and read. We will drive down to Baltimore, take D to his first aquarium and then head on over to DC then Virginia.. drive along the Skyline Drive, make stops in Charlottesville, Richmond, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Hoping the weather cooperates with us and we have nothing but clear skies and warm sunshine. We'll swing by Assateague Island to see some wild ponies and then finish off in Ocean City, New Jersey. D might just ride his first Ferris Wheel. We love good food.. breakfast is very important and we live for dessert. This Saturday my husband and I joined the Westfield, NJ Photowalk for 2 full hours of walking and photographing.It was a pleasant afternoon and I took almost 200 photographs and am now going through the neverending task of weeding out the not so good ones and working on the decent ones. In the end I have to pick 2 to submit to the photowalk website. Those 2 will make up the 100 that all the Westfield Photowalk participants took. Bear with me while I explain the maths of it all. 1 of these 100 pictures will be selected to represent Westfield. 900 cities are participating meaning 900 pictures of which 1 will win the grand prize and there will be 10 honorable mentions, lots of prizes included. Now I have narrowed down my photographs to 20 something.. I have till Saturday to submit my final 2 picks and need a little help. Tell me in the comment section which ones you like and which you don't. I need all the help I can get.
