The Story Of Us

I know it seems like this has been an endlessly long series of vacation posts.. this is the last post.. our last stop on an unforgettable trip, Vancouver. This blog is like a journal.. as much as the posts are for you.. they are even more for us.. A way to look back and reminisce on the moments of our life.. especially the travelling parts.. when the details start to get blurry, where I hope the boys can one day scroll through and be reminded of all our adventures. We drove to Vancouver from Seattle .. an approximately 3 hour drive immigration included. We checked into our hotel.. which was like a modern take on a motel.. had a cool vibe and included free parking..  After a quick freshening up we got back into our car and headed to Stanley Park. Stanley Park is a 1000 acre public park created in 1888. We arrived close to lunch time and quickly made our way to Stanley's Park and Grill.. the entrance to the park is free.. you need to pay for parking.. and once you pay at one

We said our goodbyes to Oregon and crossed the Bridge of the Gods on our way into Washington State. We made a 3ish hour drive, most of it through the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and with no bars! We stopped for a moment to see Mount St. Helen (which I did not know was an active volcano, that last erupted in 1980) before heading to Mount Rainier.   At Mount Rainier National Park there are a multitude of hikes to choose from.. we started with the kid friendly Grove of the Patriarchs. It is approxamately a 1 mile loop where you walk along the Ohanapecosh River to an island of ancient Western red-cedar, Douglas-fir, and Western hemlock. We crossed a small suspension to get to the island. Some of the trees here were over 1000 years old and as wide as 50ft in circumference.   We ended up spending far more time at the Grove running circles around the trees.. On the 7th day of our Moroccan adventure we woke up in Fes and after breakfast had a driver (booked via our riad Dar Victoria) waiting for us. He took us on a three hour ride further north of Morocco to Chefchaouen pronounced Shafshāwan. Chefchaouen is famous for its head to toe blueness.. There are several theories as to why the walls were painted blue. One popular theory is that the blue keeps mosquitos away, another is that Jews introduced the blue when they took refuge from Hitler in the 1930s. The blue is said to symbolize the sky and heaven, and serve as a reminder to lead a spiritual life. We arrived around noon.. just in time for lunch and it had been forever since we had pizza.. thankfully we spotted Mandala and our tummies were so happy! Afterwards we just strolled.
