I took this photograph in the Vatican Museums. It is an abstraction of " Sphere within Sphere " (Sfera con sfera) by Italian artist Arnaldo Pomodoro , located in the Cortile della Pigna (Pinecone Courtyard) of the Vatican Museums; it's a cracked, golden bronze sphere revealing a complex interior, symbolizing the modern world's fragility and hidden complexities.                                These simple gray plastic chairs are found in St. Peter's Square, Vatican City. They are set up temporarily for large Vatican events like Papal Audiences or Masses, providing seating for thousands of faithful who gather outdoors to see the Pope.  We happened to be visiting when they were set up and I like the repetitive pattern they created.. a sea of chairs. Today I share with you another tunnel photograph. While the first was taken in Spain, this one was taken in Portugal. It was taken in the beautiful Sintra. A place I still dream about and would love to go back to.  Thi s illuminated tunnel was in Quinta da Regaleira, an old manor built by an eccentric freemason. It was a magical place full of oddities and a must see if you ever find yourself in Portugal.                                 The print is available on a variety of products and can be purchased on Redbubble or Zazzle .                                         Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Redbubble          ...

If you recall the steam train I posted a few weeks ago.. well this was the interior of one of the train carriages. Both photographs are of the same carriage.. I shot both from the same place. The first is straight on with the color a true representation of the seats whereas the second was taken with a tilt of the camera and was given a sepia tone finish.  Do you prefer one of the other? I sold more prints of the first and I don't think any of the second. I personally love them both, they both have such different aesthetics.  The sepia prints can be purchased here and here                                The turquoise chairs prints can we purchased here and here                                           Etsy             Instagram     ...

Chug a Chug Chug - This is a photograph of the Essex Steam Train taken in Essex, Connecticut. I took this photograph in 2008 during a road trip M and I took through New England. This is a Valley Railroad #97, a vintage 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive, built in 1923 by the American Locomotive Company. It's one of the few operational steam locomotives in the United States, consuming 2 tons of coal per day to produce the steam that powers it. It is primarily used for special events like the North Pole Express.  You can buy this print  here . Get Free Shipping with code BLOGGER Prints also available in larger sizes.     When I started out with photography I was obsessed with taking close ups.. macro shots. This is a yellow and green abstract of a tree bark. I found it fascinating. It was not exactly successful as a photo print but with the help of Zazzle and Redbubble it can be places on hundreds of print on demand products.  Anything strike your fancy?                                          Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Redbubble             Zazzle

Another hand photograph from the archives. In South Asia, on joyous occasions like weddings we purchase garlands made of rose and place them around the necks of the happy couple. There are different types of garlands made for different occasions. This photograph is off a man's hands as he is threading roses onto a string onto thread.  This print can be purchased  here .                                                                   Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Redbubble             Zazzle
