The Story Of Us

January was a bit of a blur and just like that it is already over.       We started the year off with H turning nine and hosted an epic secret agent birthday party for him.  I started the year of with a fun puzzle. It was super cute and easy. There was one missing piece though. We also made a visit to the orthodontist and found out that D has completed his invisalign treatment. And will now only have to wear a retainer at night.. wohoo. While I am not allowed to share his before teeth.. he did give me permission to share his after. He still has some baby teeth left so the doc will monitor accordingly. But the improvement has been massive.. especially if you knew what the before looked like. We also made a really short trip to Houston over a long weekend. My sister in law lives there and we hadn't seen them in a few years and her kids had been begging for a visit. We had a great time.. tons of family bonding and great food. Houston is the hub of desi (pakistani/indian) food.. and o

Things have been busy.. I can't believe we're already half way into February. We have been skiing.. we are getting a little better each year.. haven't completely left the bunny hill behind but we're working on it. We attended a Knicks Game.. our first one.. it was fun.. but I still think I enjoy watching hockey games the most. The kids participated in their school science fair.. My parents, who were in town in December are back in town again and before they left the country they wanted to do one more little getaway with the boys.. so we made a quick trip to DC over the weekend..  M and I also had our birthdays last week.. the celebration has been postponed but it's something I'm really really looking forward to.  We recently picked up Ben Clanton's Narwhal books for H and these are the cutest books.. even D has been joining us for story time each night. and we are already nearing the end of January.. what did we accomplish this month? so much.. and a whole lotta nothing. D finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.. and has moved on to James and the Giant Peach. Over the weekend we binged on the sinfully decedent Godiva Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory while watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, the Gene Wilder one of course! We also discovered this month that D got accepted to an advance reading and advanced math class!! This deserves some celebrating and we have the perfect reward in mind.. Did you know there is a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical on Broadway?! Silly hat day in school H has some skills of his own.. he is talking up a storm! He is quick witted and has a clever reply to anything we throw at him. While mostly amusing it get's difficult to keep a straight face when trying to tell him no! Which is a lot.. he is very fiery strong willed child.  With D growing in
