Ponies and Ferries
We left Virginia Beach early, we had a lot to do that day.. but even when in a hurry you still need breakfast. So we grabbed egg and cheese sandwiches on the go from Java Surf.. it looked like a fun hangout place.. books, instruments and board games lined the shelves and the menu was written on surf boards.. We grabbed our breakfast and hit the road. Destination: Chincoteague Island and how to get there? The Chesapeake Bay Bridge. It reminded me of the roads taken to get to Key West but so much better. It was early Friday morning so there was hardly anyone on it.. it was 23 miles of bridge and tunnel surrounded by the great blue sea. Pictures just do not do it justice. Waiting for us on Chincoteague Island was a boat. Daisy's Cruises. I can not express just how perfect this trip was. The tour was of seven people including the captain and tour guide Tom. He does not take out large groups, he likes the two hour tours to be intimate and comfortable.
