My Best Friends Wedding

Our main reason for travelling back home was because one of my best friends was getting married. I have had other friends who have gotten married and I have pretty much missed every single one of them.. the timing was never right. I was pregnant or had just had one of the boys for at least three of them. But when.. let's call her FP told me she had found the one and they were getting engaged I was ecstatic.. I told her to tell me when the wedding was as early as she possibly could.. and I would try my hardest to make it.. she gave me a six months heads up and we made it!

It was one of the most fun weddings I have ever attended and by far the longest.. and we are known for our long weddings. Mine lasted over a week. And what made it more special was her, I love her like a sister and I wish her so much happiness..

We had a wonderful time.. took countless pictures..
Kind of wish I was married in the age of the selfie and the iPhone... would have had so many more fun pictures to look back on.

SCHOOL UPDATE - Towards the end of last week H went to school tear free and actually got mad at me one day when I showed up a few minutes early!

Kitchen and Family Room: New Flooring

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. I had always wanted a chocolaty dark floor.. The next thing to take into consideration was the transition between the two floors.. generally what is used it a T- Moulding, that strip you see in the above picture connecting the two floors together. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making
