Autumn Food

To me autumn is all about apples, bread pudding, soup and other hearty warm treats that make my belly happy : )

Here are some of the things I'd like to make this fall


 pinterest these I already made. I substituted the beef for chicken and added some lettuce and avocado's.


pinterest Hoping to go apple picking soon and then make these. Though I'd minus the chocolate and add nuts. I like my caramel apples old school.

    If only I could say the last photo is not my favorite;-) Right now I m searching for some recipe that include a pumpkin. I have a few very nice one and want to experiment.

      I am of the minority that just doesn't get the hype about pumpkin, be it in a pie, bread or in my latte.

    Great post
    I've seen on Pinterest tacos with lettuce leaves as the shell. Tortellini soup with lots of melted cheese like French onion soup is a favorite.
    I make pumpkin chili, adding pumpkin and carefully seasoning to taste. The Pumpkin flavor can overwhelm the chili balance.

    Will you invite me over for dinner then? :). Everything looks delish. I love fall/cool weather foods. It just takes us longer to enjoy the since our cool weather doesn't arrive until much later. I've made those cookies with the chick peas, and warm they're quite good.

      though I haven't had the courage to make most of them yet.. I have had a broken dishwasher for over a month now and dish washing is not something this pregnant lady looks forward too

Kitchen and Family Room: New Flooring

When the wall between our family room and kitchen see details here came down we had to deal with two different flooring, old carpet and newish laminate. The plan was to find the same laminate.. we found the box in the basement, how hard could it be? Harder than we thought.. that particular one had been discontinued.. and finding something similar was not an easy task..  Finding a flooring that was kind of close but not close enough would seem like a mistake.. so we decided to go different, this way it would seem like an intentional design choice.. I had always wanted a chocolaty dark floor.. The next thing to take into consideration was the transition between the two floors.. generally what is used it a T- Moulding, that strip you see in the above picture connecting the two floors together. D's Amazing Race Party

Last weekend our eldest turned 9.. and we threw him an amazing race birthday party! As with all the boys other parties.. I bought a plain white cake from Wegmans and let D decorate it himself. We had a total of nine kids.. they picked bandanna's out of a bag to create 3 teams. First Task Not all the kids knew each other.. they were too amped up with the idea of winning that they couldn't manage to calm down and read the clue.. so we had to really guide them through it.. they made mistakes and we let it go.. it seemed a tad chaotic..  Second Task I had 33 little medicine cups filled with M&M's and Goldfish crackers.. 6 of them had stickers on the bottom. The first two teams found the sticker in the first try... what are the odds!? And the third team had to eat a lot of snacks before they finally found their sticker. Third Task I bought 48 piece puzzles from the Dollar Tree. The boys took their time making
