Friday Photography

Image
At Work was taken way back in 2007. It is a picture of my then maid, Sakina in her small and modest home where I captured her hands as she used two rocks to grind herbs and spices to make that nights meal. This is a method still used in homes where a mechanical grinder is a luxury and not a necessity. According to Sakina and her mother, herbs ground on a rock maintain the rich flavors that are often lost by all our machines. This photograph was Exhibited at the Art Gallery House 2012 and Featured in a PictoryMag Showcase but surprisingly never been sold. Lets change that and give this gorgeous piece a home. At Work will be a great addition to you kitchen, dinning room.. and every other room. Looking for a unique hostess gift or a little something for your friend who loves to cook. The print is available in a variety of price points and can be custom framed and ready to hang. Buy Here Get my post directly in you inbox with  Bloglovin I am now also offering ad space.

100 Hugs

Image
When I was pregnant with H, D started this new thing.. huggy time. Ten.. Twelve times a day he would come up to either M or I and state that it was huggy time.. during dinner, while driving, in the middle of the night and pretty much all other times in between. Now as his vocabulary has increased and his thoughts are evolving he requests 100 hugs. He likes to hear us whisper the count. Now while I am all about hugs.. and I want to squeeze in as many huggable moments as I possibly can in the short time that I have before my hugs become 'embarrassing' rolling eyes they are not always convenient to give especially when I have a fussy H in my arms or I am feeding him etc.. so sometimes.. more often that not we may skip a few numbers.. Well our little smarty pants has caught on.. and now he insists he do the counting.. plus three kisses on each cheek. :)  source   source If I could I'd hug him forever... Little H on the other hand doesn't comprehend the conce

We were 10 adults and 7 children under the age of 10. This was our first trip together.. and we had so much fun we may just make this a yearly event. Dried Markers to Water Colors!

Image
With birthdays come presents and sometimes the unexpected happens. Among D's presents was a big packet of 46 markers. The very next day D was ready to make some drawings and color with his new markers.. unfortunately we found all 46 of them dry. Pinterest to the rescue!  1.Grab some small containers.. I seem to have an abundance of baby food jars.. 2. Fill containers halfway with water 3. Place markers 4. Wait for the water to change color. We waited until the next day. 5. Paint! In all honesty I like these even better than actual water colors. Usually keeps dipping his brush in the water and never seems to get enough paint.. here it is a perfect balance of paint and water. : ) Get my post directly in you inbox with  Bloglovin I am now also offering ad space.  See  Sponsors  for more information .  Newsletter Sign Up - Let's Stay Connected, Shall We?
