Inside the Art Show

As most of you may already know.. it is all I have been talking about... I had my first New York City art exhibition over the weekend at Studio580. I have made it a habit, even a motto maybe to hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. So that is what I did.. all these months, weeks days and even to the last hour I hoped for the best but was prepared for the worst.. Thankfully hope was o n my side and I had no need to prepare for anything but one of the most amazing experience of my professional life.. The wonderful Javier Infantes  started working on this project more than 4 months ago. He received almost 300 applications during all this time, 37 artists were selected. 500 people walked through the doors of Studio580 during those 3 hours.  And here is just a glimpse Being surrounded by all this wonderful talent, creative juices flowing, meeting new people, hearing what they have to say, their interpretat

Celebrity Gift

I am a proud member of The Artisan Group who are a wonderfully supportive and informative group of talented artists. As if that wasn't great enough the group also creates opportunities for it's members to gift well known people, lets call them celebrities ; ) . I am excited to announce that I will be gifting the creator of Skinny Girl products and the star of Bethenny Ever After, Ms. Bethenny Frankel.  Now while this is great news and an amazing opportunity I am freaking out a little. I was always focused on getting the opportunity I never really thought about the next step, the picking of photographs. What to give, how to package, what to say in the included note?  I am not one for reality tv.. I am not interested in the Housewives of anywhere. But sometime ago I was watching an interview of hers and she said to 'never assume anyone is smarter than you' and those few words changed my perception of not just her but of myself and I thank her for that. I love it w

Green Chile Cheeseburger

The dreaded question in every household is always 'What do you want for dinner?' My mom used to ask us this everyday.. we would be getting ready to go to school and why mom would ask us these six words and it was so annoying.. why did she always have to ask us that! Just make anything.. we would say.  Some years go by and here I am asking my husband that same question.. and he just as annoyed as I was back then tell we to make just anything.. I ask him to narrow down to an ethnicity maybe..a style of cooking.. are you in a rice type of mood or maybe some sort of pasta? He usually is still of no help.. but then there are those rare wonderful days when he will say 'How about a burger?' and I could not be happier.   I had seen this  Green Chile Cheeseburger  recipe courtesy of Guy Fieri some time ago. I had liked the sauce that he had made by roasting onions and peppers.. we are spice loving people so this was going to be perfect. I used ground beef instea

Calzones!

Image
Ah my mighty leftovers meal.. some leftover cooked ground beef, pizza sauce, cheese and pizza dough and the result calzones. Never made these before but M didn't want to eat it in pizza form. I apologize for the lack of prettiness but this is what the finished product looks like in our house.. the extra fanciness of a garnish may occur on special occasions or when we are expecting company.. but this what everyday is like.. bon appetit!  Let's Stay Connected, Shall We?
